Plugged in picture, it has an X by the Ethernet sign

Okay so here is the problem: I have recently bought and built and new PC. I go to connect my Ethernet cable to the motherboard and nothing happens, the green and orange light comes on next to where you connect the Ethernet cable however it does not show up on my computer. It still says that I have no internet. I am using Windows 10. I tried another hard drive with Windows 10 and I got the same results. If there are any suggestions on what I should do please let me know.

Hey there fellow Linus Media Group followers! I am currently looking for an upgrade from my Laptop that I currently own and I am unsure if I should get another laptop or to build a Computer. I want to have something that is powerful and can run the latest games however I also would like to take it around with me to restaurants, school and other places along these lines however this isn't a must. I am currently in the process of building a new PC and have a budget of around £700 I have put together a build for £800 pounds (http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/DZDRdC) and wanted to see if you the reader can come up with any suggestions to make it cheaper. Yes I did see that however I wasn't quite sure on if the fan would fit into the case because of how the fan is designed.
