I would totally have a password for my rig. I would have total disc encryption, and then have a really long windows password, and then have the thing that Linus showed off in the Handy Tech Under $100 where there was the Bluetooth dongle for proximity unlocking and stuff.

No real point in having a password on my computer. My family respects my privacy, just as I respect theirs. I don't dig through their stuff, they don't dig through mine. The only one in my house who actually puts a password on their devices is my sister, because she treats the rest of us like shit and she's paranoid we might turn on her (not that we haven't thought about it). The irony is that all of her devices are filthy, buggy, and bogged down with viruses because she won't let me perform any maintenance like I do for the rest of the computers in my house. The monster get what she deserves.

I have my laptop set up to require ctrl+alt+del and then my password (business grade laptop, so I treat it like one, especially since I travel with it). On my main rig there's a password, as well as one on my phone. My SIII (being a camera basically) doesn't have one.

The server only has a password, because I rent space on it to people. It's purely a business thing.

All my porn is stored on my desktop, and people are free to watch it if they want. Although, it might scar them for life.

Yeah but the password hint has my password in it, just in case some family member really needs to use it for whatever reason. I also have it written down somewhere. If someone actually stole it or something then I doubt they would think that the password is in the hint.

i run bitlocker on my non-OS drives.

if i could get a TPM i'd lock my OS. 

 

i have a pin on log in. 

 

my laptop has a pin, no bitlocker

 

my phone is encrypted with a pin, and a pin to unlock.

 

i don't lock my BIOS, because that's a bitch to handle, and the BIOS doesnt store jack, crack, or whack on in.

I hope you are using keys! Ssh (if you know the ip and username) it's surprisingly easy to break into.

I setup a password to turn the computer on and unplugged the power button header. And I use Windows Hello to login.
