My birthday is coming up and i want a new graphics card (right now i have a 650tiBoost edition) I would like a MSI 4g Gaming GTX 970 cause I've heard its the best bang for your buck. is there another GTX 970 or 980 even around that price point that is better ? Let me know.

I think the 970 would be a great card for you, a much deserved improvement over the 650 Ti Boost. Hell, that's what I plan on upgrading to from my GTX 760. What CPU do you have? Just to be sure you won't be bottlenecking.

Ouch, the FX 6300 is cutting it a little close. I sold my FX 6300 (which was damn hard) so I had could upgrade my cards to an even higher spec, as the GTX 970 is probably the highest tier you can put with the FX 6300, and you'd have to OC the shit out of it. I had a GTX 760 paired with my FX processor, which was no problem, but I couldn't really upgrade the GPU more.

Hell even an i3 would do. That's what I'm ordering. You always have better upgrade path even if it's just an i3. I would ask for this:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($178.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($88.75 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB ACX 2.0 Video Card  ($319.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $587.73
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

A little more expensive than a GTX 980, but you can always put an i3 4170 instead of the i5. I would say it would be hella worth it for the price.

If you are gaming at 1080P heck yes it's a great card. Get an aftermarket one from MSI or Gigabyte.

I'm going to punch your face- IN THE FACE.

Hahaha yeah I am just graduating highschool and I bought my entire system myself. Thank God I was able to get settlement money. Even if I could I would never have my family pay for my rig because I am stubborn. x) I was able to give a huge amount to my church then build a 980 ti gaming rig and man it is amazing gaming at 1440p. Never going back to the peasantbox!

I'm going to punch your face- IN THE FACE.

You will need a new motherboard, which is why I put one in that list. You can downgrade the i5 to an i3 if it's too much and you'll still be fine, the same motherboard will work. I chose the EVGA card simply because I like them, there's nothing wrong with the MSI ones though.

Also i found this

AMD A10-Series APU A10-7850K Socket FM2+ (AD785KXBJABOX)

on amazon 250$ off and wondering 1 if this is a better go, two if amd will work on the current mobo

Depends on the CPU, if it's AM3+ it will still work in your motherboard.

That's a definite downgrade there, not worth it IMO.

2) would you just getting the i5 and new mother bored just to be easier to upgrade in the future.
