What do you guys think of JayzTwoCents?

Overkilled

Would you guys say he's on par with linus or does he still have a fair way to go?

Their content, while similar, is presented entirely different. Linus' is scripted and more of a general run-down while Jay is un-scripted and "off-the-cuff". I think Jay tends to go more in-depth than Linus, but Linus is straight to the point without unnecessary filler.

He's OK. He's pissing me off with how he avoids confirming that AMD's FX CPUs are a bottleneck, because the majority of his followers are quick to argue with you for saying an Intel CPU is faster and cheaper.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I think he talks to much..in the long winded kind of way. he is a great reviewer if you break down what he says into things that actually matter. He is not TTL long winded but certainly yaps way to much.

He is pretty good, but he seems to have a short temper with his viewers

Arrogant, but i like him and his videos.

We all have our faults...

These two posts pretty much sum up Jay. He is kinda arrogant, but if you're really nice to him, he'll treat you like family. Just don't piss him off though...he'll go batshit crazy xD

I know this wasn't asked, but Paul is such a down-to-earth and humble guy; probably the most between Linus, Jay, Logan and Jerry.

The subjects that he enjoys he is incredibly knowledgable on, such as watercooling, GPUs and high end hardware, yet I also like it when he reviews low end stuff, such as the R7 250X passive GPU. He doesn't go into anything without making sure he knows his stuff beforehand, however it can come across as arrogance sometimes, not that it bothers me much. I'd say Jay, LTT and hardwarecanucks are my go to guys for reviews straight off the press, whilst OC3D is where I go fit in depth detail.

He is awesome. He used to be really overweight, but he started cycling and now he's just a bit fat. That takes a lot of disciple and determination and i respect him for that.
Oh yes... his youtube channel is also cool :P

He's fine when it's about hardware, but that's about it. I lost a ton of respect for him (even a bit for Jerry, but just a bit because Jerry is awesome) after this:

They're spreading so much deragatory misinformation at 1:26:50 when they talk about Linux.

It's just too much bs for me.

Taken from the thread where him, Linus, and Barancules (and TekSyndicate? I don't remember.) had a bit of banter on Twitter.

I'm not here to attack anybody, and I do watch Linus' and Jay's content both equally. However, I do find Jay to be a bit.. erm, arrogant. Where Linus tries to either inject humor when there's bias, or review with little to no bias at all, Jay, to me, feels a lot more.. subjective, and arrogant about his opinions. "Don't tell me how to watercool. I've been doing it for 10+ years." Is a perfectly fine statement, but when worded so.. brashly, leaves a negative impression.

Great source for info along with tek syndicate, cult of mush, onotech and Linus. Before actually paying for something I like a variety of sources. Did not know why he hated the term bottlenecking before but now I see his point. Big time:)

Well I followed his advice of not worrying about bottlenecking....

My r9 280 sits at 50% all the time

So he's ok but he is blatantly wrong about some things.

I cite my background to indicate I've actually had classes on fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, all that good stuff.  So when Jay tries to plant a flag that loop order doesn't matter and serial v. parallel is the exact same thing I know he's full of shit.

Sorry my post was more aggressive than I intended it. I understood why you added your profession too the post, but the way you just posed your profession without elaborating made it look like you where trying to puff yourself up. just adding an example of why your experience contradicted what he was saying in the original would have prevented that.
