Water Cooling the Macbook 2015

first of all many small factor notebooks throttles, check out the surface 3 it throttles as a motherf.....

 

The second issue, i see that you have skin at the bottom of the MACBOOK, when it´s chassie cooled, then skinning a laptop will be an issue, even painting a passive heatsink is an issue..

 

so first of all, just debrand it, and see how it works..i fell like you´re not giving it the best start possible..

 

Apart from that the 2015 Macbook is a crap setup, the old 2014 one, with I5 is faster, WAY cheeper, better keyboard travel and ports, and the macbook pro retina is also cheaper, and a better soltuion..

Why didint you remove the the Dbrand skin? Surely that will effect the cooling?

How much of that initial thermal throttling was because of the dbrand skin on the macbook? Vinyl has to have a lower heat flux than anodised aluminium.

 

Take it off, then see if it still throttles as badly before watercooling.

 

There is the other method of simply sitting your macbook on the shelf of your freezer every time you want to run intensive programs...

like i said above... using a large re-usable (with blue gel) ice pack / cold pack would do the trick... it'd be cool if they tested it.

I disliked the video on YouTube because we are talking about an Apple product that is crap.  Thermal throttling like this needs to be fixed Apple.  This is awful.

LOLINUS though at you mentioning people to tune out because this is going to be cringe worthy.  Messing with a crappy Apple product is cringe?  How about Apple work on making this cpu not throttle so easily then I will care whether or not Linus destroys this product.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

There is nothing stipulating how one should rate it and as long as I say why I rated the video a negative it makes it clear and I am somewhat comfortable in doing what I did as I didn't say I didn't enjoy what Linus did.

Someone just doesn't understand that Core M is inherently designed this was. Passive cooling, you will truly only get so much when you are passively cooling things. This is not the chip for hardcore work nor is this the computer for hardcore work. 

 

If anything, it is on Intel to create new M chips that carry even lower TDPs and put out even less heat (smaller processes will clearly help with that). Apple has little to do with how bad Core M can throttle short of shoving fans on it and ruining the point.

Yeah the point of THIS macbook is its size and design, not its performance, if you want that, then get an air or even better get a retina pro its the same price

 

Is the macbook a glorified tablet? kind of, but inherently more usable than an iPad due to better display better IO better keyboard and full featured OS

 

Shame people dont seem to get it :( That said I DO wish Apple sold this at the price of the 11" Air
