Parvum Build: Chocolate Orange!

What was the issue?

At first I thought it was a faulty power switch/ then the motherboard but in the end it was the front panel connectors were not making any contact so I just soldered them on.

Bad news today.

My motherboard just decided to die :(

So I had to order an Asus maximus gene VII.

Also ordered a DDC pump with top cause the D5 was taking up far too much room in the build, so the build is postponed for a few days.

I only wished Gigabyte made a mATX version of the SOC boards -- perfect for this build.

love the case, it just suits the whole build. do you have to custom cut the cable lengths at the back? (mainly for the 24 pin)

After watching the hard drive comparison video Linus made recently i still think the old school HDD should be replaced be an SSHD or a SSD now.

maybe you could integrate a Pci-e SSD with a remote pci-e cable and mount the pcb where your HDD and cooler is and use the cooler to cool it.

There is pci-e and M.2 in different sizes that might work. Just an idea (and challenge)

I have decided to use the 2TB SSHD's in this build. I'm gonna use them as a dedicated games drive only, SSD for boot drive and my 3TB WD Green for movies etc. might as well use them there just sitting around :)

I'd be curious to see the speed of two SSHDs in RAID

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

I'm going to be modifying the front panel of the Parvum case tomorrow so I can accomodate a 5.25inch bay which will house 2 temp sensor screens on it. Hopefully it will turn out ok! Can't afford to screw it up as its my only front panel :)

Will post the pics tommorow if successful.

I had to fit the temp screens under the power button as it was easier than trying to cut through 2 panels.

I think it turned out ok considering all of my tools are at work. the bottom screen is slightly Out of line with the other 1 unfortunately but it doesn't bother me.

The top sensor is coolant temp, and the bottom is inside case temp
