I'am able to get a gigabyte P35W v5 with a 970m now but I have a feeling that nvidia will release their mobile lineup of pascal gpus soon. Would it be worth waiting a couple months or bite the bullet and buy it now. Also do you think the performance leap from 970m - 1070m would be worth the obvious price hike (cause nvidia) would it be wise to wait.

How good is the GTX1080 over the GTX1070?
Awkward Turtle replied to RRGT19's topic in Graphics Cards
I had the same conundrum as you. Running a 144hz 1440p panel and I went with the 1070 as it ain't worth the extra $ imo. When it arrives I'll see if my thinking was right lol. -
i see wot u did there

I forgot to mention, the owner never used it as it dident fit in his case

I've found a second hand gigabyte xtreme 980ti going for $650 AUD, just wondering if the performance differences of a 1080 would it be worth it to get that instead even though their an insane $1200+ AUD atm. constidering that the xtreme 980ti is the highest end air cooled version out imo

I'm in the process of building a new itx pc and My 6700k temp at stock speeds while running prime 95 shoots up to 100degrees C after like 15seconds.. I've tried 3 different CPU coolers all fitted properly with the right pressure and thermal paste contact. I'm using Real temp for monitoring software. Also the idle temps are perfect at 25Degrees @ 22degrees ambient temp As you can see in the pics I've got a very beefy triple fan tower heatsink on it and when "it supposedly hits TJ max it's barely even warm". I think it may just be a faulty temp probe on the CPU perhaps or the realtemp software? Help would be appreciated cheers.

Welcome to my new build log! The goal of this little beast is to achieve the highest performance possible with the lowest acoustics and at an incredibly small size using off the shelf parts. For the case I am using a Raijentek Metis and I have fitted 8mm anti-noise foam on the panels to absorb vibrations/noise. SPECS: Psu: Silverstone SX500-LG Mobo: msi gaming pro ac mini itx CPU: i7 6700K GPU: gtx 1080 (when released) Harddrives: 1Tb SSHD and 250gb Samsung SSD RAM: 16gb corsair lpx Ddr4 CPU cooler: Noctua C-14S Fans will be replaced with thermaltake riing versions soon. Stay tuned for more updates and pictures

I'm needing to buy 3x 120mm and 2x 140mm fans for an upcoming custom loop build and I'm aiming for the lowest possible sound achievable from the rig, based from experience I won't be buying EK Vardar fans this time so any opinions?? they will be PWM controlled to about 1000-1200rpm, cheers.

Hi all, I will be building a custom water-cooled mini-itx pc inside of the Fractal Design Nano S. (I will be doing a soft tubing build this time as I fancy a change from my previous hardline builds) The theme for this project will be a crisp blue and nickel coloured idea with chrome fittings and blocks where possible, Also I will be trying to fit dual reservoirs into the build for aesthetic reasons. The main feature of this build however will be to achieve the lowest noise possible as I'm a real noise freak when it comes to PC's This build will be a slow project for me as Im at University so its not a main priority atm, but stay tuned for more details and first pics! Parts: Case - Fractal Design Nano S Motherboard - Msi Z170I Gaming Pro AC Cpu - i7 6700K/Ek supremacy Evo Nickel block Ram - 16gb Corsair Vengance Black 2400mhz Gpu - Msi 980ti 6G /Ek waterblock/nickel backplate PSU - Seasonic XP-660 Platinum PSU V2 SSD - 2 x 512Gb Transend SSD370's Lighting - Nanoxia White Rigid led strips Watercooling Parts: Radiators - XSPC EX 240mm & XSPC EX 280mm Fans - 5 x AeroCool DS 120mm/140mm Blue fans Pump - Laing DDC with Nickel top/heatsink Reservoirs - 2 x Phobya Balancers Silver Nickel 250mm Blocks - All EK waterblocks nickel/plexi Coolant - EK Ekoolant Evo UV Blue Fittings - Combination of Bitspower and EK fittings Tubing - Primochill Advanced LRT Clear 1/2ID by 3/4OD

question cooling a msi 980ti
Awkward Turtle replied to darkravenbe's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
Hi Mate, I just bought an EK water block for my MSI 980ti 6G this is the one you will need they still sell it.. https://www.pccasegear.com/products/33288/ek-full-cover-vga-block-ek-fc980-gtx-ti-tf5-nickel -
Hot Temp components in a Slim Chassis
Awkward Turtle replied to Awkward Turtle's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
made some measurements and a 120mm fan will fit on-top of the noctua cooler as well as its own fan so ill see is blasting 2000rpm of air at it makes a difference i have also thought of a way to watercool this using quick disconnects and an external radiator that wont look like total crap lol so that'll solve the gpu issue too -

i meant i cant get the temps for the vrm's and SSD's haha my bad -

The cpu and gpu temps are all great even overclocked/stock but it just affected the rest of the case i.e motherboard vrm's and ssds thats really it imo. and I cant get an exact temp for those but they are too hot to touch, so high im guessing -

Yeah i tried all components at stock and still the issue persited -
All right, so I've just finished building a very slim gaming pc inside a Silverstone rvZ02 case. i7 6700k + Noctua NHL9-i low profile cooler 16Gb DDR4 Msi Z170i Gaming Pro AC itx motherboard. Msi 980ti gaming 6G graphics card samsung 850 evo 250gb SSD Hitachi 1TB SSHD 2.5inch Silverstone SFX-L 500W PSU. The pc works fine so far no major issues except for that the case internals seem to be getting quite bloody hot to touch lol. (besides the cpu,Gpu and psu) CPU = 65c @ 4.4Ghz GPU = 75c @ 1510mhz as for the rest of the case its bloody boiling especially the harddrives/ssd. (which aren't suppose to get hot) the main issue is cause the case has no fans besides the ones on the GPU/CPU so its just circulating warm air and it cant get out... just want to know if this could be an issue for my drives etc.. I could mod the chassis to fit a 120mm High pressure Noctua Fan to force some cool air in if that would help it out
