Only on last gen chips. Hawaii is perfectly fine.

I run x2 MSAA at 5760x1080p and my 290x's dont artifact at all on that driver.

As soon as i turned it off it stopped artfiçating.

Maybe it only affects cards under the 290 aka the re branded cards.

This why I stopped buying AMD cards. Nothing but problems, people blame it on developers but really its the drivers AMD release... Plus "beta" drivers is a big hint. The drivers nvidia released were WHQL meaning ready for public use.

System Specs:

GPU: Radeon RX 7900 XT

RAM: 32GB 3600MHz

Could be. I noticed @huilun02 not having any issue like me, using a 290x.

Well nvidia DID  launch a beta driver that bricked cards lol.

AMDMatt already acknowledged MSAA issue with 15.4 driver on GTA V.

If u're using single card, i suggest use the modded Window 10 driver by Asder00. Work perfectly for my system. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=397877

This driver also have slightly lower CPU overhead for DX11.

I bet they'll fix that so I wouldnt worry about it

This.

It'll be fixed quickly, it's not the end of the world.

I've seen funnier issues like an AMD sponsored game (Dawn of war 2 retribution) having rendering issues if you set adaptive anti-aliasing on in the CCC where very specific screen elements wouldn't render. (A character's hat for example)

I don't know... it seems that this thread could have gone in the gaming section or even the GPU section... too much GTA V "news" on this section.

A-fucking-men.

It isn't artifacting per se. I know the issue, I've seen it before with Skyrim ENBs when you enable edge AA along with transparency AA. For some reason the note box on the bottom right corner of the screen is recognized as game geometry so it gets caught in the MSAA filter. As far as I can tell this is only present on the Tahiti based GPUs so the R9 280X, 280 and equivalent 7900 series GPUs.

It happens on pitcairn too , 270 , 270x etc.

Its happening on my 270x.

I had to turn off MSAA on mine too on a HD 7950, but the game still looks great with FXAA turned on. I was only getting artifacting on the lower right corner, but it was still distracting.

Also a 'fix' is to set postfx to high or under and the artifacting should be gone :)

I have an Nvidia GPU and something close to this is happening to me. like an object will stretch across the whole screen, seen it happen a few times but I have MSAA off so I shall turn it back on and see if the problem goes away.

Been doing 2x MSAA with my R9 290X and I got no problems?

Only odd thing I've seen is random bright flashes when its night time in the game. Changing settings doesn't seem to affect it. Its probably an issue that affects most people regardless of GPU.

Both those are lighting actually? Ive seen the lightning effects and they do look pretty realistic

This is a problem I have too , i thought it was just me .

If you use MSAA with AMD cards on this game even on the lowest level your game will either crash or start artifacting.

This persists with the latest AMD drivers.

FXAA is the only way to play the game decently , sadly if you own a AMD GPU.

This happens with the new AMD 15.4 beta driver.

Roll back one driver this doesn't happen on that driver.

Sounds like a driver issue to me. Just hold tight people, AMD will probably fix it. It's also what happens with a Beta driver, nothing is guaranteed.

When I turned Post FX all the way up, I got some bad artifacting at the bottom-right. I have the 280X and on the beta driver. Funny thing is that the game hasn't crashed when I used x2 MSAA.
