I'm a junior sys admin. Today at work we got a call because one of our end users had been talking to another end user and they had become convinced that the cell service was down in a part of the building, and asked us if we needed to reset the cell tower.

 

I facepalmed very hard.

i have a friend who wants a new computer and is looking at an hp pavilion and i tried to show him what he could get if i made him one. he is probably getting touch screen the computer probably either has a trash gpu or none at all.

i have another one today, one of the people at the sports fishing asociation im in told me this experience he had at a local tech store:

him: hi i would like to buy an SSD, whats a decent one that dosent get verry hot?

sales person: oh SSDs dont get hot! thats just a rumor! *procedes to show him some pice of utter garbage noname brand*

him: ok and you are sure this one wont get hot?

sales person: yes, like i said SSDs cant get hot because they have no moving parts.

 

he buys the SSD and puts it in his wifes computer(he is semi techy, he dosent do hardware much though) and after about a day the PC catches fire. not even jokeing. the PC was started burning. turns out the SSD had gotten so hot that it started igniting stuff 9_9 needless to say he never went back to them again.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...
