Acer Predator X34 34" Curved 3440x1440 75Hz Monitor w/ G-Sync available in August and for around £999!

Lots of great monitors are being released.

Now it's just a matter of getting the prices down for the masses.

Couldnt you take the recording, and then just match the output to 16:9 so it just cuts out the edges, should be fine though if your HUD moves that may look a bit off but otherwise, should be fine?

Dont want black bars or the sides of the game cutting off

also sucks for games that dont support it

I mean. You can play and record in 21:9 and then in post you can match the video to the 16:9 output and it will automatically crop the video for no black bars during gameplay or YouTube but, it may look odd if it spaces your HUD wider because of the 21:9.

Not sure if that made sense or not...

It could be a hybrid panel. That are becoming more popular.

Can you explain to a monitor noob what exactly a hybrid panel is and how it works? It sounds quite intriguing, but I know next to nothing about monitors and how they work

No VESA Mount option? Then I don't care. That stand is terrible.

Really feels like people dont know what they are talking about when they say shit like this....

90% of games will run no problems. 9% can be fixed.

I even managed to run GTA3,  DOOM 1 and vanilla DOOM3 and Stacraft2 on 21:9 native res.

GTA vice city was the only one i couldnt find a fix for.

3440x1440 monitors are already over 1000 dollars, let alone 120hz ones

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

Yeah I agree, if it's IPS or similar and has multiple inputs (HDMI for other laptops) it ticks every single box for me. The only other things I could think of are one having both G-sync and Freesync and be super cheap but I never expected that anyway.

I've been waiting on a monitor with these exact features for a while now.

having both g-sync and freesync would be redundant. I guess it's more future proof but it's not really a big concern to have currently.

theres a small chance that this will have also the ULMB option...

cuz the XB270HU from acer is confirmed to have ULMB, and yes, its the first strobed IPS

if the 34" really has ULMB too - its so godlike its beyond words

so... amazing times ahead of us

21:9 .... see it in person and tell me if you still like it.  Sorry but for me this monitor is a no go.  Too short and too wide and like others have mentioned sorry but I don't want black bar borders at all when doing various things.  Also 4K monitor or I am not upgrading.  It is the same with my tv situation also.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S
