Acer Predator X34 34" Curved 3440x1440 75Hz Monitor w/ G-Sync available in August and for around £999!

omfg...

Why necro this thread if there is no update?....

Edit: also to answer your question "These screens are expected to go in to mass production in Q2 2015 so availability is yet to be confirmed." - guru3d.

This monitor looks cool, but I'll probably end up getting the LG 34UC97-S instead. I have a LG monitor that has lasted for like 7 years now, so I've been pretty impressed with LG. Acer, in my opinion, also hasn't been very well known for quality. I also have a 144Hz monitor that I use for playing FPS games, so I don't really need that feature, either.

As much has I want that to be true, do you have a source for that?

Seeing as the Acer Predator XB270HU 27" G-Sync IPS 144Hz is 1440p, uses a 144hz panel, and made by the same company... It's probably going to use an ips or ips type panel.

Linus did say that this would be the only thing to beat out the one he just reviewed. but he probably wanted ips.

The only thing that bothers me now is it will probably be Minidisplay port only like the XB270HU, My laptop has mdp but the majority don't and with USBC coming out I don't want to lock myself in.

I don't know of any g-sync monitors with other than 1 display port... :(

One BenQ monitor does because it adds a second scaler.

I want BenQ to copy the Acer Predator XB270HU exactly, but also include their smart scaling screen size technology!

  • 2 weeks later...

With regards to IPS or TN, 144Hz IPS is possible; Acer have already done it and this is like their 27" IPS G-SYNC display aside from the fact that it's curved and wider

You asked for when it will be released week after week. So I went out and asked for you:

30wy2r4.jpg

Some details on the monitor if you haven't seen the last thread:

2djne9.jpg

• Large curved 34" size, and 21:9 ultra-wide format.

• 3440 x 1440 resolution.

• 144Hz

• G-sync

• Probably using AHVA-IPS Panel like in the XB270HU (so basically means IPS Panel)

 Also coming is a 2560 x 1080 version, along with a non G-Sync version of the 3440 x 1440p version (but still with 144Hz).

If you have any more questions you want me to ask regarding the monitor, make a post in this thread and I will ask them. They seem to respond to me in about a whole business day. Keep the questions realistic, because it seems they are open to answering them as long as they are reasonable.

You know, as much as it's probably going to be the definitive best G-Sync monitor out there, I'd still take a Swift over it.

I'm not still running a HP E221 because I want to.

This screen will be around the $2k mark in AUD... (based on current curved 34" IPS panels being $1600-1800)

It will probably cost more than twice the amount of a Swift anyway being 21:9, 34", 3440x1440, IPS, 144Hz, and all of that with G-Sync

You know, I got to see a Swift in person a couple of weeks back. I walked up to the Alienware Area 51 that it was connected to and started using it normally in a Micro Center. Nothing striked me as being off, I just thought it was a high end 1440P IPS monitor, seeing as it was in the corner of the store with no advertising fluff around it. I then looked down and saw an illuminated (IIRC) red ring, and something clicked in my head. I looked to the left, saw a G-Sync sticker and realized I was looking at a Swift. It's a pretty remarkable panel. TN, yet it seemed to have great viewing angles and colors, maybe even better than my own 1080P IPS panels.

This is absolutely fantastic. It is basically the perfect monitor right now.

Too bad it will cost at least one kidney.

TN panels have come a long way IMO, but just make sure you don't say anything like that on Overclock.net. Heresy!

Is one thread not enough?

That thread dies on a weekly basis (I mean like weeks without any replies), then gets revived then dies again, then revived. Time to start a new one based on the current topic. Which is its release date. Then people wont have to keep bringing that older thread back from the grave anymore.

I say that thread gets locked now, and keep this one for ongoing discussion.
