1995 Mustang Build Log

Guest Philosophy
Go to solution Solved by Real_PhillBert,

With a supercharger and a performance chip, I should be able to get at least 400HP out of the 5.0.

Yeah with a bit of boost you will get 400 without much trouble. Mine is still N/A but I would really like to swap in a Coyote 5.0L and add a Kenne Bell with E-85 but other things always seem to take financial priority.

Going to go sequential?

Yes :) Eventually...

Yes :) Eventually...

The harness to do that shouldn't be too expensive I think.

The harness to do that shouldn't be too expensive I think.

Matter of installing it, I had/have very littler experience coming into this, so I have been relying on my father to teach me most of it. So lately, I have been on his schedule. I can do bolt on stuff, and basics like oil change, brake fluid, coolant etc. But like super chargers or electronics, I need him to help me out.  EDIT: The harness is $129 Combo for correct lights and harness is $274

Do not remember the harness costing that much. I'll look for it again.

The one I do remember is a matter of unplugging the original wires, and putting the bulbs in order (it's labeled) on the new harness. Uses the process of replacing the bulbs which is super easy.

Also, if my memory serves me right..

94/95 used the horizontal lights while 96 and up used the vertical bars. So look for the 96+ kits.

Cheaper, requires splicing work. Might require this if they run through too fast which would bring it up to the price of the following suggestion.

More expensive (~$50), plug and play even I can do it.

I plan on changing the rims to the Cobra R's. I am not sure about the calipers. and I would love to see your pictures!

Those rims will look extremely nice on it. I would do the calipers since they look bland being grey (That is what I was going to do for mine Mustang at least was paint it red).

This was my grandfathers farm truck, only drove it in the fields so it only has 58,000 miles on it. Needs to be repainted and restore the bed. bBG3IXM.jpgI2sYSOZ.jpghJXBEMd.jpg

Thanks, I just want a 302 to have a little more power when I mash on the pedal but I don't need a lot. The V6 produces almost 200HP already so its not like I need a lot maybe 350HP to the wheels and I would have many smiles per gallon. Kinda wanted to add in the projectors for the head lights as well, are you going to be doing that??

I have been very pleasantly surprised by the mileage I get from my 4.6L with ~335HP at the wheels, I get ~25MPG when on the highway and 15-17 in town. Granted my in town driving is probably not the most beneficial for efficiency ;)

Wow that is really good gas mileage there. I think I only get 22 mpg with my 3,8L (I don't really remember since I haven't got it out of storage in over a year. nor started it) which is better than my daily drive with only 16 mpg. What all did you add to your Mustang to get extra performance??

Mine has been in storage all winter as well. It has never seen a winter and only been out in rain a few times :D

I have a fair amount into mine, Comp Cams, BBK ceramic coated long tube headers, BBK cat-less H-pipe, SLP LM2 cat-back, BBK high flow fuel pump, BBK CAI, BBK throttle body, MSD coils, DiabloSport ECU W/ custom maps, steeda plug wires, underdrive pulleys, stainless brake lines, and Brembo front brakes, are what immediately comes to mind. There are probably a few more small things in there somewhere that I forgot lol.

All running through a T-5 and a POSI equipped ford 8.8.

Wow those are a lot of upgrades, Kinda reminds me when me and my dad built a drag car with a 85 I-Rock Camaro. I am still surprised you get that great of gas mileage.

I think I may need a new air filter, cause it is rated higher than that. and the owner before me said it dropped recently.

This is far from a drag car, but its pretty good fun on sunny afternoons and date nights.
