What's the most shaky part to you when you build a computer?

 

 

Putting in the dem CPU...

Putting in the CPU hands down, I was freaked out the first time I had to put the retention arm down because I had no idea how much force was needed.

I don't really think of anything as being "shaky."

 

I've built maybe 10 computers, and I'm perfectly comfortable with doing anything in terms of installation, even installing CPUs, so long as my hands are freshly washed. The one thing I do before and during every build is wash my hands. The first time, of course, I was a little nervous, but I got the hang of it.

tighting the screws on the mobo, I was scared i was going to break the board.

Probably when I plug it in, see the boot logo come on the screen, then the PSU cuts out power and everything goes dark.

Nothing really. I was afraid I would bend a CPU pin the first time, but that is about it.

Top of the motherboard fan headers... God those suck.

CPU, becuase i dropped one before and bent alot of pins... Luckily i was able to bend them back and return it to the store to get a "different" one.

Cable management. Reason is, I pull my cables tight to the back of the case so it's more clean in the front. I'm scared I'm gonna pull one time and a cable will bend pins or disconnect from the plug. I've actually bent pins on a USB 3.0 header, but I fixed it.

I can't decide between installing the CPU and believing I won't accidentally break parts from static build up.

When I found out one of my MOBO stand offs had fallen out and was going to short out my entire PC if I turned it on...

Nothing shaky as such but I hate installing the motherboard, cpu and cooler and then realizing I have to strip all the skin and flesh from my hand trying to plug in the 4-pin CPU power cables as they stick them in the most awkward spot imaginable.

CPU... That's the one thing I hate about intel... that weaksauce socket which can break at nothing... Especially considering the fact that I ruined my $200 ASUS P7P55D-E Pro board and now have to use a low tier LX board instead... Since the repair cost more than a new board >_<

But honestly there's no difference in performances...

Closing the computer case and hooking up the power after dumping a cup of water on the mobo.

Plugging in the stupid 24 pin cable at least on my mitx where it seems like you're going to break the board.

Well when I first started it would definitely have to be the CPU. Sometimes it is the motherboard now, only because screwing it into place makes noises that I am only used to hearing from things when they break.

Technically, the front panel connectors because of reasons relating to hand precision. I also have putting the motherboard on the stand offs. I always fear that I'll scratch it.

Probably plugging in the 24-pin power cable on boards that stick out past the screws. Or inserting the CPU in Intel builds.

For my last two builds, it has been filling the loop! Its always really scary the first time you fill the loop. You are hoping it isn't going to be like a water balloon with holes in it...

Things only get shaky when the smoke starts pouring out of the case. Then the real fun begins.
