I know it will be, the problem is that when it is companies will take all of it to manufacture into paper and make tons of money. Any remaining for recreational use will have a gigantic mark up in price and probably be taxed out the Wazoo just like Cigarettes and Alcohol.

It doesn't matter whether or not it will be expensive. Notice the market for bootleg alcohol and cigarettes pales in comparison to the legal market. The same will happen when marijuana is legalized. Of course people will prefer the legally regulated option to street drugs, it's not like they enjoy getting arrested for carrying a single joint in their pocket.

You only read the last part, marijuana is a cheap way to manufacture paper and rope. Lumber is far more expensive and costs more to manufacture. When weed is legalized it will be mass produced and recreational use will be severely limited. That also means the value will drop due to being a cheap commodity. Cartels will still attempt to sell it as a recreational product since it will be very limited to the public.

 

Why would it be limited, and why woud it being sold cheaper make it viable for cartels? You have walls lined with cigarettes and tabacco doesn't even have any real useful production purpose beyond smoking it, and I have to wonder about the demand for rope and paper made with cannabis, and how that would ever out shadow the average american/canadian (I dunno about the canadian laws but I know weed is universal) desire for easy to get weed.

The deficit is still a good point to make. It shows our economy can sort of keep up with the increased spending by the government which is good since otherwise the dollar would be worthless.

Cancer patients who need extreme pain relief, just a more obvious use. They are beneficial.

well when i say treat cancer i mean literally that. not just pain relief. there was a case where CBD was used to treat Melanoma (Skin cancer) and within 60 days it was almost completely healed

Actually you can make rope and paper from the stems of the Cannabis plant. The female part of the plant is what you actually smoke. If you could get a cannabis plant to grow large enough you could actually make lumber out of it because it is a somewhat "woody" plant.

 

And by lumber I mean that you could turn it into boards, doubtful that you could actually use it for anything.

My nephew owns a dispensary here in the greater seattle area & since it's actually legal here in WA.. Reading this thread shows that most of you guys need to go read an article or 12 about it and stop spewing out the trash that you think you know about it because ya'll are either dumb or just have no idea what you are talking about.
