Can you OC a GPU to get 2048MB of VRAM?

Just that simple question. Can you overclock a 1GB VRAM GPU to get 2GB VRAM?
May sound stupid, but I don't know.

And if so, how do you?

No, you can only overclock the core speed and memory speed.

If you already have 2GB on board, overclocking the vram will make it so you can transport more data across the memory, making more of the memory 'high-speed'. You cannot however add ram by means of overclocking.

No, not the GPU. But I overclocked my CPU to 12GB on the stock cooler. With a custom loop I might be able to hit 16GB, but I'm not sure if I might also need to upgrade to a Z97 chipset.

Nvidia can help you , they will let 970 owners download the 0.5 GB of VRAM they lost.

Take the fans off of the GPU and let it run for a while, usually ramps it up to 3/4gb of ram if you are lucky.
