Man will wear Oculus Rift for 28 days

Mark Farid will wear a oculus rift for 28 days as a science experiment.

he made a kickstarter and is asking for 150 000 pounds to fund the project.

you will be able to go and watch him as he lives the life of the "other" the will be wearing spy glasses with two 180 degrees fov cameras and two microphones.

the project will document how the human brain adapts to VR.

it will also be made a documentary off the experiment.

No but seriously. Why does he need that much money? Also, it won't really be virtual reality since he is not the one engaging in stuff. This is basically just a 3D movie. Having to go to the toilet at the same time sounds like a horrible idea as well. Just because two people eat and drink the same things at the same time doesn't mean they will go to the bathroom at the same time. Having to hold it in will probably take away from the immersiveness as well.

 

If this has any effect on him at all, I doubt it will be "oh I am now a different person!". Not being able to control the actions of "the Other" will prevent it.

It will be interesting to see how the experiment goes though.

If so then it would make more sense, although it still kinda seems like a high amount but considering he also has a medical crew standing by at all times it is some what understandable, although I still don't like it
