Well, it says 50mm silent fan so I'd wait to say it's loud until it comes out. It probably doesn't have to spin at more than a few hundred RPM seeing how all it's doing is taking some of the air from the outside to expel air that may not be evacuated by the 3 main fans.

All the fans seem a little overkill. It may just serve to make it noisy, though it may be the exact opposite if it allows the fans to spin at low RPM under load. Depends on the efficiency of the implementation. It might just be my ignorance, but is iChill a reputable GPU manufacturer? What's their customer support like?

Looks a bit ugly for my taste but if it keeps it cooler and gets a higher overclock than the gigabyte i might get one.

Nvidia is to Dr Dre Beets as AMD is to KFC.

One makes you broke, the other you can get more of and have a midnight snack from the fridge when hungry again. Once you go Nvidia, you go broked, turn into an Elitist, or get the incorrect amount of VRAM.

I don't and I wouldn't buy this card. What theyre doing is in the style of throwing a 75mm heatsink on a GT610 with 9x 5000 rpm fans. Never buy such ridiculously cooling advertised cards that barely consume power. I'm refering to the fan shroud. With that many curves, cuts, edges being quite smooth, whatever shape has been added isn't going to be cheap to make it from metal. Most manufacturers, even Asus, claim their fan shroud is made from Metal, Powercolor same story, Gigabyte not any different, Nvidia with their reference thing apparently it's magnesium orsomething. I asked JJ if the strix shroud was from metal, he just lied about it. Apparently a metal fan shroud is too much asked.

The Asus Strix does have a metal shroud.. I have one.

Makes sense for a 290X not for a 980. What's the point when nVidia limits the power unless you go with a modded bios?

 

modding the bios is very easy, you type a command into command prompt to unlock afterburners voltage control, then flash on a custom bios, it only takes ~15 mins or so.
