By the way @LOLZpersonok I don't remember you but I apologize for whatever it was I think...

 

I remember that incident very well. But nonetheless, it'd be a dick move on my behalf to not accept any apology, not that I feel I should have one.

 

I don't forget any kind of negative feelings directed towards me, be it in person or not. I can remember stuff like that from years back. I must say, however, that Builder is not on my ignore list.

Amen! I never use it. I think its a sympton of a problem in our culture where confirmation of your bias is very important. People stay close minded and dislike discord.

2. That this entire thread is some sort of shot at me for having you on ignore. Despite the fact that I still respond to you in threads that happen to interest me (and in fact, in the past, have agreed with you on a few things).

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

I'm not going to bring it back up, but I remember distinctly being chewed out for a simple little mistake. However, I do accept the apology in the previous post. You didn't have to, though.

It's not really a shot at you. It's a shot at everyone who uses ignore. You did remind me that I'd been thinking about this for a while though.

That's certainly one view, however my take is different: I am usually not interested in challenging myself or being super objective in never adhering to confirmation bias, I am of the opinion that we need bias and we need elitism and some distance, simply because I don't believe in selflessness at all: We're all selfish creatures at hand and we should not waste time in self denial with extreme altruism or self analysis because I think life is literally too short for that: My time on this earth is limited, more than most here in fact due to my own choice of being careless about my health, so I refuse to spend time second guessing opinions, to me it's ok to be wrong and stubborn.

 

That being said however, the fact that I do not worry about consistency or being always objective means that my mood varies and that I occasionally view selected posts from people I'm ignoring or even "forgive and forget" some and remove them from the ignore list completely like Builder here probably can tell. So yeah that's a bit of irony and circular argument for you.

My ignore list has been empty since the vBulletin days xD 

Mostly because if i ignore someone that annoys me i feel like i've lost whatever argument we were having.

Although im sure that im on some peoples lists. Would be nice to be able to see who is ignoring you though..

I have never used the ignore option on this or any other forum. I enjoy a spirited debate from time to time and if I ignored everyone who disagreed with me, those debates would get pretty boring quickly.

 

@Trik'Stari I am pretty sure you had me on ignore for a while not long after you joined this forum, because of a handgun caliber debate we had. Lol. Now I see that you and I seem to have similar viewpoints on many many issues.
