What's The Best FPS Of All Time

#PC Luv

The CoD franchise.

Laugh at me if you must, but I really enjoyed CoD alot more compared to other games.

However... The IW engine and optimization is a tad bit disappointing.

Soldier of Fortune 2, Gold Edition. I played that game for years, and was fairly competitive with it

Doom original in my opinion with Brutal Doom mod installed. It's so good it puts everything else to shame.

TF2. It's a million years old and still one of the most popular PC games.

For a competitive shooter Counter Strike.

For a kickass story probably Halo CE or Half Life(1 or 2).

Although Metro 2033 personally is a game that really struck me as profound when I played it, however the fact it was a horribly polished game certainly takes away from it. I haven't seen much of the redux though.

In 2008, Combat arms was pretty great but the game died very quickly, it was a fun f2p with at the time impressive graphics.

BF3 was probably the best so far in my opinion, despite all the bugs and glitches I still reckon that it sits on BF4.

Team Fortress 2 - A classic, true to its name, very team oriented. Even in its age, it shines as brightly as an Unusual Sunbeams Team Captain.

Call of Duty 4 - Arguably the peak of Infinity Ward's career, one of the best fast-paced shoot 'em up games for every console. I wish the next CoD went back to the drawing boards of CoD4 and CoD:MW2.

Halo: Combat Evolved - Possibly the game that revaluationized the FPS category, with a grand story, solid mechanics, and outstanding replay value. 13 years old, and people still go back to play it, and has been featured in two remakes thus far.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

I think the only FPS's i have ever played were Golden Eye on N64 and Far Cry 3 recently lol i really want to try some online FPS action but my friends told me don't bother because im usually a pretty friendly person online and tend to attack mean people in the games we currently play, they said i wouldn't do so well among the FPS community.

I'm not really big on multiplayer shooters, so I suppose one of the single-player FPS that stood out for me was the original Crysis. Suit mechanics were pretty fun, levels were nice and open so you could approach objectives differently, and it was graphically pretty amazing. And then they had to start designing for consoles in the following sequels, and kinda ruined all 3 of those things I loved...

The first? The most famous? The best? The one that made more profit? The one with best graphics as of today? ...? ...?

Counter Strike 1.4 was the first FPS I played. And is probably the "best" for old school gamers.

However, if you think about single-player, multiplayer, quests, story, etc, the best FPS are the ones related to wars. The first Battlefield, Call of Duty and Medal of Honor games were awesome.

Multiplayer?

Large. Star Siege Tribes. Stupidly ahead of it's time.

Small. CS.

Console. 007 Golden Eye. The only point of playing a FPS on a console is to do something unique. Golden Eye did that. 4 players on screen in a game you could play with people who didn't play FPS on PC. All the other FPS games on consoles are stupid.
