Do you buy tech from only one brand because of their sound?

Speedbird

I only buy Lite-On DVD drives because of their power-up sound. Also some old TSST LightScribe ODDs had cool motor sound.

I do. I just have a bunch of stuff on DVDs. And they're cheap.

Uh... what? That is a rather arbitrary reason to be brand loyal...

Not really, but I've never used any parts with necessarily good sounds.

People still use optical drives?

It's faster for me to go to a shopping center, buy the disc and install it like that then downloading it. And I've found some good deals on games in stores on disc.

Trust me if I had the money to spend on 2 TB of ssd I would.

My fans are run at 600RPM. They are almost dead silent.

3 fans not 4

I keep my pc far away from my monitor so its barely audible from 10ft away.

I have reinstalled Windows several times now, I even had FSX on 2 PCs once. I guess I have activated at least 5 times.

They are pretty silent. 600 is at idle. and 800 is at load.

My temps kind of suck but I would trade silence for temps any day.

Once i go full water cooling I will have best of both worlds

I love how MS doesn't give one about the activations anymore. I've installed it across 6 computers in my possession and never once did I need to call them to get it activated.

So in my country the cheapest optical drive is the TSST SH224/DB. But I will pay 1 euro more to get a Lite-On iHAS112-04 because of that sound. I do, however, have a build coming up with that TSST ODD for someone else so I will know how it sounds.

I guess the Nokia ringtones are a thing. I never had a nokia though, just throwing this out there. :P

I have a Lumia 610. It's ringtones are bizarre, as are the included wallpapers.

Forgot to mention the WD Blue HDDs. They spin up so quickly and sound awesome too. Let's see how the Seagate Barracudas sound with my next build.

Oh i have 1 case fan and 2 h100i fans.

GPU is the loudest part on load. fans don't get that loud on low loads.

PSU ramps up gracefully as well. And doesnt spin at idle.

So i guess 6 fans. :P
