Haha nah main rig needs to not run at 1000 degrees, and sound like a jet

I love the industrial sound of it.

I don't particularly mind extremely loud graphics cards as long as it sounds cool, blow dryer is unacceptable but bellowing jet engine is.

It takes a lot of noise to drown out a Volvo FH16 barreling down the Autobahn at 165km/h ;)

I'd like to do 580 quad SLI. My secondary system will be two way 480 SLI.

I may move to 3-way 3GB 580s in the next few years

The 3 gig cards are insanly ixpencive. Like a two times increase in price, and I can't figure out why.

Maybe it's because they have twice the vram :o 2x vram = 2x $$$?

I can understand that, but if I were to spend $300 bucks a pop on a graphics card I'd get a used R9 290 with a refrence cooler. Which require a 6 and an 8 pin, and kick out some heat, and are rear exhaust, which meat most of my requirements for being a possibility of purchacing.

Only problem I have with that is that R9 290s aren't Fermi

This is looking nice Ryan, though I recommend taking a can of compressed air to it to clear off some of that dust safely. :')

After years without an update, @DildorTheDecent brought to my attention that the photos from this build log had disappeared. I am proud to say that I restored this build log to its former glory and even added some photos of the system before its disassembly in May of 2017.

I have big plans for the ultimate GTX 465 rig on the horizon as I recently acquired the rarest of all GTX 465s. I had been looking for the MSI GTX 465 Twin Frozr Golden Edition for years, as they only produced 2000 units it was difficult to find one, but this year I found one and pounced. I moved to South America two years ago and as a result I'm away from most of my hardware so it might be next year when I get a chance to make a build around this golden beauty.
