Destiny beta codes are good for three download keys

While the Destiny beta doesn't kick off until 17th July on PlayStation and 23rd July on Xbox, most users are able to at least redeem their download keys from the Destiny beta registration site. Upon doing this, they were greeted by a pleasant surprise: each beta code comes with three download keys, so you can bring along two friends who haven't pre-ordered or otherwise acquired this early access

 

 

Bungie noted that this means you'll have "enough to field a full Fireteam on the console of your choosing!"

 

 

It looks like European PS4 users can't redeem their codes quite yet, but Bungie assured the region that they'll be able to claim them prior to the initial PlayStation launch on the 17th

 

 

No matter. You don't actually get your download codes until the beta launches for your respective platform, at which point they'll be e-mailed to you. Additionally you'll be able to check for them on the beta registration page once logged in.

would be useful except all my friends and i pre ordered a ghost limited edition each so we have beta codes :P

That's pretty cool that they allow you to get 3 beta codes (I think this should be copied by other devs),
the reason being you can try and get your "friends" to get hooked in. 

I've yet to preorder as I've decided to basically never do that again unless I get to try a beta or really want to support the dev (Witcher 3), but I'd love to try it out.

If anyone wants to be hugely charitable, I'd most appreciate a code! 
I promise to hook you up back one day, if I have a code of your liking :P

It is Activision's 500 million. Bungie has no choice. All the versions have to be 30 FPS for "parity" and the consoles all play on the same mega servers.

 

A PC version will have to play on separate servers because of mouse/keyboard and people would not buy a 30 FPS shooter for "parity". If the game is good? It will come to PC. If the game is a bust? It will come to the PC so Activision can recoup money. This is Activision who sold 3 million copies of Diablo expansion in a week. There is literally no way it doesn't come to PC. It is just going to be delayed.

Well i work at ebgames so its not hard to snag such things, i was thinking about giving away the other two codes here on the forums. That is if we even have any console players that are interested (xbox one version)

I think this is actually the game that might force me to buy a xbox. Plus maybe the halo anniversary edition thing. Those are about the only two games i can only get on the bone that i want...

Am I the only one that knows literally nothing about Destiny? Seriously, I don't even know whether this is a FPS or a third person shooter.

 

And I don't even care enough to search for it. Activision, that millions of dollars marketing you did has failed on an epic level.
