FIRST Asus ROG Swift Review Out

G-Sync is quite good, sadly it just costs a lot of money.

As for QNIX and such brands I ain't going for a A- or B+ panel.

You do that, but I am going to get a good deal for $300. I really am obsessed with getting 120 frames per second and 60hz monitors just made me shiver. At least for gaming anyway.

Edit: I sound like a douche. Nevermind...

Spoiler

i5 4670k, GTX 970, 12GB 1600, 120GB SSD, 240GB SDD, 1TB HDD, CM Storm Quickfire TK, G502, VG248QE, ATH M40x, Fractal R4

Spoiler

i5 4278U, Intel Iris Graphics, 8GB 1600, 128GB SSD, 2560x1600 IPS display, Mid-2014 Model

Spoiler

All the parts are here, just need to get customized cords to connect the motherboard to the front panel.

i think thats your picture talking :D some people have a great reason for wanting this monitor, and some dont. dont hate on them coz you love ROG branding.

Im not hating on anyone, its just people who outright hate TN panels without thinking first make me a bit mad. Anyways ROG or not this monitor is unique in the fact its the only 144Hz 1440p monitor

its unique but its overpriced. thats why people are mad, mainly people living in the UK. its got a lot to do with G-sync costing £150 and retailers adding around £200 to the price. on top of that %20 VAT. your right, people are mad at the monitor when they should be mad at the retailer and the VAT and other costs added to this monitor.

how ever, i cannot judge this price, as i've never had IPS or a good quality TN monitor.

It should be, but you'd be surprised by how many monitors don't support it.

I still don't feel that it should be pointed out that a display has vesa mounting, should only say something when it does not and when that happens reviews should tear the manufacturer apart for it.

Desktop -  i5 4670k, GTX 770, Maximums VI Hero, 2X Kingston Hyper X 3k in raid zero.

Laptop - Lenovo X230 Intel 535 480GB, 16GB Gskill memory, Classic Keyboard Mod, Triple USB 3.0 Express Card.

I do hope that it becomes widely available soon. Have been watching it for quite some time.

The more I read about it the more I want it.

I've never dropped $800 on a monitor before. Or even a single PC part.

Never say it's not broken. Everything is broken. Why? Because everything needs MOAR POWA!

I find it hard to understand how a site can rate something so expensive, that works only with a subset of the market as "Must Have"

Why wouldn't someone just get an overclockable PLS 1440p monitor? G-sync isn't really worth an extra $500

no it aint

i have only owned TN panels, ever.

i'd love to know your opinion why i should go with this instead of say an Asus PB278Q.

bare in mind i am willing to spend around £650. I have an AMD card. My current TN panel has 5ms response time (dont know what 1ms feels like), note that i dont do professional working, nor do i play 1000s of games, i play dota 2 most of the time, Dayz, time to time battlefield, Garry's mod. Counter strike, maybe a few single player games time to time like spec ops the line.

im am a fresh meat, i havent seen the beautiful colours of IPS, or the fast speeds of a 144hz monitor.

Give me a good reason to get this instead of a IPS panel. would appreciate it

Asus PB278Q

144hz is pretty chaning, and combine that with Gsync, this monitior would be amazing. 1440p too. The Korean IPS one's actually look worse than the ROG swift according to reviews.

Like I said earlier, the PB287Q looks almost as pretty as an Ultrasharp AH-IPS U2414H. It only suffers a bit in the black/white department, and is not quite as vibrant.

Colors look almost great as long as you're not viewing them side by side, it's just that text and other things are a little less... pop-outish.
