one plus invites are coming out / we might be able to own the product soon

"in fact, those of you with invites will start seeing them in your inbox on June 6th" - David S. of One Plus

shipping will be 3-5 days (ups ground looks like is fastest)

http://forums.oneplus.net/threads/behind-the-scenes-invites-are-coming.21563/

early supporters get invites first. One plus describes early supporter as

"What's an early supporter? Previously, we would include activity and other metrics in the mix in determining this. This time, it's all about registration date. Going by registration date means that there will be a lot of people whose accounts aren't active, which is why the early supporter invites in July will last 24 hours. As they expire, the next people in line will get them."

http://forums.oneplus.net/threads/july-plan-for-early-supporters.43151/

also. linus if you plan on reading this and trying to say my name... I will laugh so hard at the fails.

easier to say KC and I won't be able to pronounce the remainder of your name so screw it

also linus if I get more invites I will offer them to you as I won a contest for early invite (if you are interested)

not a fan of one plus one anyway. lg g2 hit the size limits for me. that one is just too big.

LG G3 has much more manageable profile from what I have seen and LG drops prices on their phones like there's no tommorrow so I don't think oneplus one will be that appealing soon.  :(

do you not like your contract? I think contracts are a good thing, then you don't get your prices changed like they want to.

That's the point he's making. Normally, when you get a new phone (of decent value) from the phone company they tend to muscle you into 'renewing' your contract, which typically consists of your rates increasing for no reason. If you happen to buy what seems like a very good phone for the price from somewhere other than your phone carrier then you don't need to 'renew' when you upgrade.

Oh. We don't really have rates anymore just pay an amount and you get free calls free messages, just have to sign fair use agreements. It's mostly just data plans now.

More invite BS? Just release the damn thing or let it die, geeez

I don't understand what they are trying to do with this.

They are a new company, they can't afford to just release it. They have to ramp up production, and if they do that before the know how many orders they'd get, they could end up under water

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

I got an email, they sounded excited about 'giving out a bunch of invites'

Then they mentioned something about performing a bunch of tasks to increase your chances of receiving an invite.

Seriously. GTFO.

Prices don't really change that much, if anything they go down. Here, at least.

I'm on prepaid, and it's much much more economical than a plan.

They are a new company, they can't afford to just release it. They have to ramp up production, and if they do that before the know how many orders they'd get, they could end up under water

That statement makes absolutely no sense. They should be pushing as many out the door as soon as possible.

They claimed they wanted to do this because they don't want to make too many and have units left unsold.

Hmmm...what fixes a problem like that? Oh, that's right. Preorders. Where people have already paid for the product so they obviously want it.

They're already under water with their whole "no profit on the device" mantra.

it's made by oppo themselves so basically they cook real onepluses and make some of their own copies that aren't really copies on top.

Eh, I can't take One Plus seriously any more. I'll be waiting for the Nexus 6 towards the end of the year.

Any company that wants to exclusively invite me to give them money won't be getting any of it.

I don't really know what to think of it. They've lied (yes, lied) multiple times to their potential customers and are not able to deliver to expectations they themselves have come out with. My main concern is about the after-sales support a company like this can deliver, because the device itselfs seems to be very capable and well build.

By the way, any of you guys on the OP-forum? If so, what's your forumnumber?

Still haven't received it yet... From what I understand it may not come with the charger or screen protector I ordered. I worry there's going to be a yellow tint defect as well... we'll see. Should arrive Monday, it's currently on a truck on its way to NS from ON.

Their problem is that Google can outdo them with the Nexus 6, sell the Nexus 6 for equal or less, and bleed them dry because Google gives little damns about making hardware profits.
