one plus invites are coming out / we might be able to own the product soon

Still haven't received it yet... From what I understand it may not come with the charger or screen protector I ordered. I worry there's going to be a yellow tint defect as well... we'll see. Should arrive Monday, it's currently on a truck on its way to NS from ON.

I've heard from owners that the yellow tint disappears after a while. You should get the device fairly hot (by running a movie an entire night or so). It seems to solve most of the yellow issues. Although I hope it has no issues at all ofcourse.

I would love to read your findings and review!

Their problem is that Google can outdo them with the Nexus 6, sell the Nexus 6 for equal or less, and bleed them dry because Google gives little damns about making hardware profits.

Well, the nexus 5 costs more than the OnePlus and it's an older device. Also the OnePlus currently isn't making any profit from it either.

They can't sustain it though.

Google can. Google can sell the phone for 0 and not give a shit. Google has that kind of money. One Plus can't, nor can One Plus update as fast.

One Plus is also at the whim of Google and having an 'approved' Android device. Google can do whatever they want and take that status away.

The One Plus is nothing entirely special that hasn't been done before.

Me as well but I've also heard the opposite. We'll see. I do have a thread on the OnePlus forum that I'm using as a step by step my process/findings/review/troubles as well. I'll link it once I find the link.

Yes same can be said for all android devices, and there's no way google would do that. The OnePlus has one really great thing going for it and that's that it's the cheapest high end smartphone, also one of the most powerful in all aspects. Even the nexus devices aren't top end when they are released. The fact that you can root it and not void warranty is also a huge step.

I have no idea why people keep stating this as if it's some kind of plus. It's not. It's actually the opposite, if you actually care about the company.

I agree with most of what you said sans the part about updating as fast. True, they won't be able to update to the newest version of Android as quickly as Google, but it's pretty obvious why that is.

I'd say they're third if not second fastest after Motorola for rolling out updates. Cyanogen is a very capable company with it's own staff working for them.

Google won't revoke their status. Why would they? It's getting Android into the hands of more people. Which is their main goal.

You do know the Nexus devices have an unlocked boot loader as well, right?

We'll see what Googles Silver line up is like. I bet it gives OPO a serious run for its money.
