So I was digging in my closet...

TacticlTwinkie

It was garage sale day, and I went digging through my closet and attic and found an old gem that I bought at a previous garage sale a few years ago for a couple bucks: a Maxtor 30gb IDE drive from around 2000-2001. Not super old, but definitely outdated.

These baby's went for $200+ new, if memory serves me right, pretty top of the line in 2001. I remember my family's pc had a 4gb hard drive back in the days of windows 98, so this would have been a god send to me so I could have fit more games.

Why not use an adapter and test it in your current system?

I'm thinking about it. Next time I see some parts ultra cheap on eBay I might snag it.

Why not use an adapter and test it in your current system?

Too easy :P

That packaging...now you're lucky if they even turn up in an anti static bag.

I know, right? The packaging in this thing puts almost everything else to shame.

Wow. A Maxtor! And that box! I wish they would send drives like that still...

I have a bookshelf full of IDE Maxtor drives, mostly 20gb. If only I could magically turn them into SATA. lol
