I'm still due at 9pm Pacific Time. This has to be one of the worst countdown timers ever.

The best part was where the sheep sees it fall out of the sky and comes to check it out and/or eat it. It's great that AMD did a thing, but I can't say I find it to be a particularly exciting thing. The mobile market is getting absolutely smothered by wave after wave of low power APUs.

there was rumors of a new from the ground up architecture...

probably not in this CPU though, it's supposed to come out 2015.

My guess it's an Excavator APU.

I was right, this was the launch of Kaveri mobile.  :)

yeah, i knew it wasnt anything like their new arch, i was kinda hopeful for a 6 core APU at the most though. if they had somehow managed to cram a fx6300 and a 7870 level gpu all on die that would have been WOW

They probably could, but they'd have to redesign a new socket so it wouldn't burn out the motherboard

The goat is like nothing out of the ordinary just an AMD A10 APU falling out of the sky.

I'd like to introduce you to our current generation of "console gaming systems" They are 8 core variants of current apu's with radeon "Pitcairn" cores. The difference is the CPU portion is not a higher-end Kaveri/Steamroller-class CPU, but is based on Jaguar/Kabini architecture.

It seems we are still a bit ahead of ourselves when it comes to best in class graphics, and processing power on the same die... Hopefully some day soon...
