What do I need to do to get 10Gbps speeds?

Leychee

Hi. My ISP is Free (from France), and I'm theoretically paying for 10Gbps but it's currently capped at 1Gbps.

I have the Freebox Delta, plugged into my PC (Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE V2) with a Cat8 cable. The router has 4 ethernet and 1 SFP+ ports.

I assume it's impossible to get 10Gbps with my current hardware, so what would be the best course of action?

Thanks!

your mobo has 1x 2.5gbit lan port

What router?  if it's 1gbit, you're not getting 10 no matter what.

If you didn't expressly buy 10gbit hardware:  you're not getting 10 gbits.

First, you'll want to KNOW that the modem is actually capable of passing on 10Gbps. If it's not, you'll have upgraded everything else for no benefit.

Other than that, you'll be looking at putting a 10Gbps network card, probably with a SFP+ port.

What speeds are the ports on the freebox delta? Is the sfp+ port lan or wan?

Your gonna need a 10gbit nic on your PC.

The documentation for the Delta is mediocre at best, but multiple sources say that all ethernet ports are 1Gbps, and the SFP+ port is 10Gbps.

If the 2 are close enough an SFP+ 10Gbps card for the PC and a DAC (Direct Attached Copper) cable would be the cheapest.
