Occupations That Are Open To Abuse

Geekazoid

Hi guys,

You can probably guess what this thread is about just by the title. As you know there are many different jobs available throughout every country and it just made me think that there would have to be some jobs that are open to abuse. By this I mean that a certain person might be in a particular job and could maybe be in charge of managing things like money and they could decided to slip a few extra $$$ to themselves if they thought no one was watching. Of course this is unethical and not the right thing to do but it's just something that I've been thinking.

So, what do you guys think?

Do you know of any jobs that could potentially be abused?

I know Queensland health had a accountant that made fake bills - got caught stealing something  in the total of 10 million over the years.

All jobs where you can handle money can be abused. There are just slight variations in how fast you'll get caught.

And if anyone is thinking about doing this. Don't.

If you can do some garden work or construction you could do some "tax free" jobs. But i don't condone that in any way

I would like to know why one would even risk abusing their job position and not think that they're not going to get caught. Maybe they won't get caught straight away but eventually they will and it would come back to bite them on the butt in a big way.

Any job could probably do that in some way or another.

Just going off topic (in my own thread :P). Where the heck did you get that profile pic of yours?

Web developer, since if you know the schema of the database, and used text queries to access the database, you can easily do some nasty things to their database.

Unfortunately, if you do do this, it will be extremely obvious to anyone other developer experience in SQL, since it's pretty easy to block SQL injection, these days.

I would say any job where you are able to claim expenses are the easiest to abuse financially.

I worked a job where our time wasn't tracked well. Everyone took advantage of the situation. Some were fired in extreme cases where they had put that they worked 50+ hours, but only worked 12 the whole week.

Pizza delivery I worked before that was open to some abuses as well. Most jobs have some area to exploit.

Pretty much all jobs can be abused if the employee wants to bad enough.

Engineer, my father comes home with things that require clearance. Both software wise and every so often hardware wise.

Auditor, my mom comes home talking about how much person X at company Z makes per year. She even goes through document containing social security numbers, bank routing numbers, and endless account statements.
