Companies like Delta Electronics, Etasis, Flextronics, Zippy, etc. For consumer desktop PSU, I say Antec HCP Platinum (Delta), Corsair AXi (Flextronics), Seasonic XM2/XP3 (Cooler Master V1200)... to name a few.

Corsair doesn't make power supplies, they get them made by CWT and Seasonic, Flextronics for the AXi series, and a couple of RM series units by Chicony. Antec has a couple of Delta made units. XFX rebadges Seasonic units. etc.

 

Seasonic is one of the better known consumer grade PSU manufacturers. In that regard, they're one of the best. However, manufacturers like Delta, Etasis and Flextronics are superior but you don't see many of their power supplies as they exist mainly in the server market. In servers, Delta is pretty much the best manufacturer right now, but you won't find many consumer grade units from them.

Corsair isn't awesome for making good power supplies. They're awesome for rebranding them at a reasonable price (disagree if you like), giving top notch customer service and technical support, and for mostly rebranding good power supplies. For example, XFX only rebrands quality Seasonic units, but Cooler Master rebrands some good and some bad. Their lower end units are garbage.

But, amongst other things like warranty, customer service, the actual components, 80 Plus rating, what jonnyguru thinks of it, I'd also base my "which PSU to buy?" question on the included cables. I can't stand non-black cables.

 

So all things considered, I would say Corsair AX series is my PSU of choice (or RM series for lower cost), even though they don't make their own PSUs.

Lol you obviously did not read what i wrote...

I said corsair because they are made by seasonic

 

also seasonic does not make the entire PSU

only the electronics

all the corsair link stuff, casing, etc... is made by corsair
