Way better than I used to have, my 4930k and 2x 290X didn't go so far after a while and I was running that combination less than 2 years ago haha

Interesting, you sure saw some rapid growth in the last two years! 😄 Congrats on the huge upgrade

Nah, I still have the 4930k but now a 6800XT and 2 3060 Ti. The above servers are all at work.

Also, 34.1C in here, I'm dying! Someone send me an emergency air-conditioner please

Did you rent servers on some cloud infrastructure?

If your answer to this isn't "yes" you definitely need help. 😐

While I'm not him, I'll just say that some IT professionals often have access to a LOT of computing resources...often that spend chunks of time idle normally...and do need to be periodically tested to make sure they'll be ready for their next critical use time.

(ages past, at one point, I could push a button to start a task on 100ish servers and several hundred desktops across many organizations at any point...though we usually only used it for reporting and forcing critical updates)

I consider that to be the same as renting out hardware. I just hope he didn't spend 10 grand or something on servers 😄

HPE folks also tend to have a crap ton of cores in home lab systems.  But that's probably mostly work systems being "tested".

Yes "tested", exactly what I am doing. So this is legitimate usage 🙃

I threw 32 threads at it because why not, there's still 12 threads left on the system

Dang it, I swore I signed up during the Boinc pent, must've gotten things mixed up with everything going on then. I might not cook myself then with our 90F weather right now, but I guess i'll keep track to see about were I would've ended up with EOC stats then. Probably 3rd or lower, since I'd rather not cook myself.

Quick question, does the Lars folding extension not work on remote web servers?

I have it installed on Edge yet when I open the F@H web control of a remote server, it does not change…

@Gorgon  made a guide on how to access remote systems while still allowing Lar's extension to work. However, keep in mind that the extension will only read remote GPU slots correctly when done this way. The F@H client does not have the proper API to retrieve the CPU information.

It will also attribute all of the slots on all systems to the OS of the system running the extension.

Whoops. Add that to the list of things I never intended to pollute the Lars database with.
