Different font in forum?

Dutch_Master

Is it me or did "someone" change the default font on the frontpage of the forum?

It's not that I mind, just that I noticed it recently.

Just curious.

Can it be changed for individual users? Its very fuzzy on my monitors and messes with my dyslexia. Granted the old font was no good for my dyslexic eyes either - but this is worse for me.

Not using the forum software, but you can use a browser extension like Stylus to customise it for you.

I'll have to look into that - been wanting to get one of those extensions and try out that special font for dyslexia anyway.

Why the change tho? Old font was less intrusive imo.

Do you know if there's a way to change it on mobile? This new font doesn't look good to me, especially on the mobile site. If not it's not that big of a deal, but the old font looked better overall.

No, on mobile I'm not aware of any way to customise it. I'm confident that you will get used to it pretty quickly though.

Same here. I have no health/mental issues that it would exacerbate, but it is mildly annoying. It reminds me of the thread I started for an issue of blurry text in Brave (and other Chromium browsers). It was never fixed. Now I have to deal with it here in Firefox too? Sheesh.

I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually, but it's not really comfortable to look at. I assume the forum software doesn't support font preferences per user?

For what it's worth, it looks fine for me on Firefox mobile, but a blurry mess on desktop. Well, it did until I disabled "Allow pages to choose their own fonts".

I made a UserScript that restores the original font (Compatible with Tampermonkey and Greasemonkey as well):

Just in case nobody thinks there's a difference, here's an example of the added blurriness: (Make sure the pictures are full-size for accuracy)

I quite like the new font actually. The softer look is nice and it is less cramped. For me it reads fine on either my 3840x2160 or 1920x1200 screens.

@colonel_mortis Sorry to bother you again, but I'm not sure if you saw my previous question. Does the forum software have support for font preferences for each user? I'm assuming no, but figured it would be worth asking.

Ah, didn't see that above my post. Thanks.

I guess I'll try using the forum with Firefox on mobile. As much as I've tried I can't get used to this new font. It gives me a headache after a little while because of the slight blurriness. It's not too bad on my Windows desktop, but it's blurry on my phone and my MacBook.
