Well they have said that is onE of the reasons floatplane exsists.  It's pretty unlikely that will happen imo but I did just subscribed to floatplane... Mostly so I can watch the wan show this week if the YouTube stuff doesn't get fixed

the other channels got hacked too

Dont forget to mark as solution if your question is answered

I've also decided to jump back on Floatplane. Haven't been subscribed since the Floatplane "Forum" days post-vessel, but figure why not given the circumstances. That and so I don't miss WAN if it takes a while to get fixed!

If any personal user informationfrom the forum is compromised during this "hack" we gon start a class action lawsuit fellas

What personal info. Your email? Chances are, they already got that from one of the 100000 leaks we see every year from other services.
Plus, this is clearly just an attack on the youtube channel. The forum is 100% separate. If it was affected, I'd be really surprised.

Is it hard for Youtube to return the LTT, Techquickie, Techlinked handles on Youtube? I saw some forum members helping by reserving them lol

And what? Rewatch old videos? Unless you're some sort of archivist, what's the use of downloading all the videos?

so basically i am that "unless youre archivist" part.

i have some extra scripts re-check those channels and mark the videos that were removed but is still in the archive. its always kinda fun to see them. thats all. its mostly some cherry-picked turkish channels though since i dont have petabytes of storage...

Linus' Twitter account is also "private". So who knows what's going on.

Edit: Or it was. Does seem to be gone. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is very frustrating to see it happen to LTT. I've been following Linus for over a decade.

I just subscribed to Floatplane as support.

It was likely only uploaded because they needed some support with a server software, and I'm guessing the video was then sent to a tech support person as it was quite a long video which probably won't fit in an email. The video was probably intended to be deleted afterwards, but as it was just left as unlisted or private, it was likely forgotten.

It would be very smart to not do that under their main channel or even any channel that is managed from that account.. just use someones private channel or a different service like vimeo.

Or Dropbox or Google Drive or anything else.. but not your bloody main YT channel..
