what if the channel doesnt get recovered because of youtube being... well youtube...

Well they have said that is onE of the reasons floatplane exsists.  It's pretty unlikely that will happen imo but I did just subscribed to floatplane... Mostly so I can watch the wan show this week if the YouTube stuff doesn't get fixed

I wished I had enough resources to include ltt channels on my youtube mirror (ofc its not a full mirror, just a tiny part of it). i am lucky that i was able to just fire a yt-dlp script to pull some of them. learn to use those tools boys

And what? Rewatch old videos? Unless you're some sort of archivist, what's the use of downloading all the videos?

I believe that an employee working for the sponsorships got phished as this has the same behaviour as the Redline Stealer, which typically targets fake sponsorships. These 3 channels that got hacked could've been on the same Google account.

Yes, one by one all channels are being hacked and they are changing the videos to private which you can still watch if you have the links. I hope this gets over soon.

Man... I hope people don't start unsubbing just because of this.

Seriously, it's crazy how it keeps happening. Always the same Tesla cryptoscam doing it.

they would have just deleted it because they arent dumb

it was a video from like 10 years ago so who knows. I mean they had a bunch of old ads and such as well leaked, so they probably usually don't completely delete videos. I didn't see if this particular video had some highly sensitive information, but it could have had, even if Linus or someone else hadn't had noticed it.

I guess so too as well. That might explain why MacAddress is still up... That is just crazy

It does make me wonder if these hacks are related to the recent LastPass breaches or if its just some other form of social engineering attack

Probably unlikely noting they'd probably have 2FA enabled. There was a home automation youtuber that experienced the same hack a few weeks back from opening a screensaver (.scr) file that was disguised as a PDF (which I'm guessing probably stole his browser cookies) so might've been the same thing here.

Dont forget to mark as solution if your question is answered

Note: My advice is amateur help/beginner troubleshooting, someone else can probably troubleshoot way better than me.
