If it wasnt obvious, that was a hyperbole.

And to answer your question, i dont give a shit.

I'd rather burn the entire industry to the ground, and rebuild it anew, with lessons learned from our civilizations' past mistakes, than to tip-toe around the shit-eating shareholder swines, or entitled assholes who can and will buy the cards at whatever price, giving no shits about how their antics affect others.

We should be living in a world where people care more about their fellow man more than some fucking corporation.

This is bordering on a fucking class war at this point! We should be working together, not against each other. The average joe is the biggest force in the universe after all. If we really sticked together, and acted as one, instead of being divided, the """elite""" wouldnt last more than a week.

I'm sad that as time passes they are more and more successful at dividing us.

Its a GPU. Calm down.

they are a corp, it's what they do.

The fact they didnt price it at 1800usd hints at massive overproduction for mining, but i dont expect people to hold the line on a flagship product. it will sell out for months.

Buying a GPU is voluntary, while true abuse is involuntary. Nice try.

I don't think many people have issue with the 4090; mostly its the 4080 naming scheme shenanigans

Walked in 2 hours after they opened and got one of 20+ (3 brands) that were still available.  Seemed to have quite a bit TUF OC.  They keep them in a cage next to the register I peeked down there before I went to ask for one.  I'm not sure I've ever been able to get a card on launch.  Maybe a week later.  My first MSI since the 1080ti.

People forget that Nvidia is a large publicly traded company.  They do what is in the best interest of their shareholders.  In fact, they can be sued by their shareholders if they don't act in the shareholders' best interest.  If they can charge higher prices for a product they will.  If they can increase profits, they will.  Other companies that you regularly buy things from do the same thing.

For some reason people think that Nvidia(or AMD or Intel) is your friend.  They aren't and never have been.

I'm REALLY hoping AMD proves to people that they are not their friends. The amount of comments of seeing AMD "save" is incredibly cringy. I'll never trust a company to operate in the best behavior of the consumer or even their employees because when things start to go bad, its usually those two that suffer. Money is really the only thing that matters.

Gaming is a luxury, but hasn't been a rich persons luxury until recently with Nvidia increasing prices significantly since the RTX 20 series, the 2080Ti launched at $1200 and people thought it was ridiculously expensive, now people have been accustomed to paying a ton of money for a graphics card.

There isn't any competition at the upper end, even if there were people would still buy Nvidia because of the marketing tactics.

And I would expect AMD to price their cards like how they did with the RX6000 series, slightly less, but better rasterization performance per dollar, and less power consumption.

The prices are ridiculous if you compare them to the RTX 30 series, or go back and compare them to even what the RTX 20 series were selling for, and those cards were much more expensive than the GTX 10 series.

So playable at 4k 60fps, that wouldn't be acceptable for most people wanting to play at 4k, perhaps for people gaming on a TV at 60Hz, but anyone buying a 4k 144Hz monitor isn't going to be using a 3070.

What 4070, the 4080 12GB with 70 tier specs Nvidia wants to call an 80 tier card, or the 4070? I don't have any hopes for the 4070, given the 4080 12GB is very cut down from the 4080 16GB, and I wouldn't expect it to outperform a 3080 Ti.

You make it sound like you can't game unless you have a high end GPU. Which is blatantly incorrect. The performance of the lower tier cards has gotten to the point where to have high refresh gaming you only need a 3060 Ti.

Very few people actually look at rasterizatioin per dollar, or power consumption.

Right. More buyers with deeper pockets changes the market. It's simple supply and demand. No, people that don't want to pay the price to play aren't going to like that, but tough shit. That's how businesses operate.

That wasn't the crux of your argument. You said it couldn't play at 4k, which you are simply incorrect about. Whether people want high refresh rates doesn't matter, that wasn't what you were saying. On top of that, those who want high refresh 4k generally have no problem paying for the experience.
