Android phones are... ONCE AGAIN, not calling 911

Get a Motorola, they have a few models (g8 and g9, as well as e7) which dial 911 on their own. We had several at our store, new out of box, freshly setup, which after sitting on the counter for a bit would call 911, and we had 3-4 customers return some phones saying they would call 911 in their pockets.

I bet you their data collecting software is working just fine.  Glad to see there is no one defending google at least.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

911 is outdated. They should make (or better said should have 50 years ago) an app where you just press a button and all of your details, location, literally every single possible information about yourself is sent to the emergency services automatically. This should also lock your phone so you can no longer turn it off or turn disable the internet and if it is below a certain battery level it should turn off everything except the necessary to allow for it to continue being tracked. This is all common sense and would save 200% more lives than whatever they are doing currently. Not sure why you still have to "call" to get help.

Not a bad idea, and locally or specifically some police departments here in the US do that. Some example are the University of Illinois Chicago Police and Metra Police. I have both of their apps set up, so if anything happens I am good to go. I don't know if a universal app would work entirely, one reason would be for those that can't use phones or just don't know how to. Having a basic enough service that greatest amount of people know how to use is more beneficial in my opinion.

Another thing is that Apple already has medical cards built into iOS, so if you do call 911, it sends over your information, and I believe others are doing that as well.

911 is something I believe should operate on a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" system. Upgrades are good and necessary, but universal changes might not pan over well in both the short term and long term.

(What else do you need, this is just a signature, plus I have them disabled 😅)
