Back on anime related stuff (you guys just carry on :P ), but what would you guys recommend as good starter animes for people haven't seen any before? Got a couple of friends curious about it, and I'm wondering what I should recommend.

Jeez you clowns... @wolfgang you got Teamspeak on mobile right? Is it any good?

@Jaybird you still super busy?

I thought you already had the app. Its not bad. Works fine. Only downside to me is it makes your screen behave like you are on a phone call. If you cover the right sensor it turns your screen off. Other than that I have no complaints for what it is.

And yes, I switched back from Firefox to Chrome. Firefox was just too damn laggy even with NoScript blocking everything; Firefox refreshed every tab every minute, causing massive lags when multiple tabs were open, with no option turn that stuff off.

Now that I have switched back to Chrome... Things feel so much faster now.

Still yet to figure out myself how to install TeamSpeak on Linux... I just don't seem to get it to work, even if I ran the Windows version in WINE.

Never trust my advice. Only take any and all advice from me with a grain of salt. Just a heads up.

They're usually up for a bit of anything, though usually ends up being something comedy based. I really want to shatter the illusion that it is just Japanese cartoons for kids. I was thinking of Death Note, but it takes some time to really get rolling and I know I really only have a maximum of a couple of episodes to prove them wrong :/

You should have reset your Firefox profile first instead, because it sounds like it was doing stuff Firefox doesn't normally do unless you futz around with it or install shitty addons. Even just starting Firefox with a clean new profile often feels as fast as switching to Chrome for a lot of users.

Lol it was a joke. I scared a guy off of anime forever by getting him to watch that.

You know what's easier than buying and building a brand new PC? Petty larceny!
If you're worried about getting caught, here's a trick: Only steal one part at a time. Plenty of people will call the cops because somebody stole their computer -- nobody calls the cops because they're "pretty sure the dirty-bathrobe guy from next door jacked my heat sink."

Show them Monster, Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal if they're so inexperienced that they think anime is just for kids.

If you want to prove that anime aren't only for kids, try attack on Titan. It gets going in the first ep and is a decent anime for people who haven't seen other anime before.

Well, if they want comedy, show them Gintama. Even my friends who don't like animes enjoyed it.

That won't work after the first few episodes, once it settles down into a pretty-looking teen's anime.

thats some good choices.

uhh...mmmm, for a beginner id say no... i´d suggest something more mature and less "kid heroes"

Death Note could work, im not a fan of it but eh its better than Attack on titan for beginners.

Bash gave some good ideas, but if you want something more "modern" GATE could be an option, its a bit of everything expect Fan service (Thank god) its abit "typical Japanese culture" but at lest there are no Child soldiers with super powers winning the day.

There is also Dragonball Z and Super if some confusing over the top Fighting with super powers.

True, maybe psycho pass would be good.

Good idea.

Because what's the point in being in a club only talking about one single things? I'm sorry buddy but I can think of about 100 other things I'd rather be talking about including this and I hate limiting myself to one thing. I love Anime, I love design and I love motorbikes not to mention tech so forgive me for calling someone out on some bullshit which was brought up in a little thread of discussion. No offence but this isn't 1940 Germany and I'd rather have the free will to post what I like in a thread with like minded people like yourself.

Well too bad, some of us only care discussing about anime, i don't care about most of the other things people discuss here.

U wanna discuss motorbikes? There's a thread for it

U wanna discuss tech? There are many threads for it

U wanna discuss something else? Make a thread for it.

I don't understand why some people think it's okay to talk about many other things on a thread that's meant to have only 1 topic: Anime.

Have you ever been on other forums? On other forums you will get warned, and then banned, if you start talking about stuff that's not what the topic is for. Because it's rude and makes no sense, just because everyone has accepted it and we can't really do anything, doesn't mean it's okay to do it.

I'd suggest the good ole, Kino No Tabi or Mushishi.

If we're going the introspective route, I'd also suggest Haibane Renmei, Ergo Proxy, or Texhnolyze, very much depending on their tastes.

To be fair, it would be fine to have an "off topic" thread for our club too, since that's basically what this is 95% of the time, and club forums generally have those too.
