Why is Jake in so many videos?

When other members of staff are in a video, they are there to add some sort of expertise on the subject on the video. Jake is usually just kinda there as a random guy. Its always like he just kinda wondered onto the set randomly to see what linus was up to. I just find it odd he is in so many videos. The best I can think of is he is being trained into being a linus replacement one day.

Jake is one of the writers at LTT. The writer for the video will sit in on filming to make sure the script is being followed, give direction as needed, and answer any questions people on set may have. If you think you're seeing Jake in a lot of videos then you're probably watching a lot of videos written by him. He typically writes a lot of the PC build videos as well as some of the networking and server stuff.

I just mean like if you watch a video with Anthony, he's there to explain the linus stuff or other software things. With Alex, its usually him explaining something he built. But with today's video, or any other video with Jake, he's just kinda there to be someone to banter with with Linus. I watch every ltt video and I couldn't tell you what Jake specializes in. I can see the angle with him being younger and adding chemistry there and another views to contrast with Linus.. but I don't think it really works, they are a little too different.
