What do you guys clean your LCD, Desk mat with?

Tazz 316

I've tired a little bit of soap and warm water is there anything better? It's mostly food and soda stains. There are lots of products that claim to do this.

On your display?? If so, I'd rather recommend you stay and eat in the kitchen. That said, I don't get such stains on my LCD and thus I just simply use a wool duster, similar to the one in the following picture:

Don't have a desk mat, can't comment there.

For monitors, I use either a wool duster or a microfibre cloth with a tiny bit of water, depending on whether there's only a bit of dust or there's actual marks on the displays.

For desk mats, I use water, powdered detergent and a sponge. Most of the time I'll just use a lint roller to take most of the dust off it though.

For the LCDs and OLED in my house I use a microfibre cloth and some LCD cleaner when/if it needs it, otherwise just the cloth to remove dust, then I vacuum around to try and keep it from just going back on again.

I don't get food or drink on my screens, but the LCD cleaner fluid should remove them no problem... I would really recommend staying further away from the screens though if you get food and drink on it.

I use these to clean my display https://magicfiber.com/ I'll use a bit of water if something is stuck on it. Don't use the fluffy type of microfiber cloths because they can easily hold onto particles that can scratch your screen.

As for my mouse mat, I use one of the fluffy type of microfiber cloths I typically use for household cleaning to wipe it off. If the dirt is stuck on, then I'll use a multi-surface cleaner. I don't know if it's bad for it or not, but if the surface (it's the hard surface type) does start to go bad I'll just buy a new one.

My monitor is old so I don't really care about it too much. I just use vinegar Windex..

Both...water and a microfiber cloth will not take it off.

For the desk mat, I wash mine with warm water, some mild detergent and a sponge (the foam part, not the scruffy part). That seemed to work fine, but your milage may vary depending on the material.

if you don't want to use anything strong on your mouse pad, leave it over night in a slightly warm water with soap (any soap, liquid and the like) can do it and make it dry the next day. Too strong or in the washing machine might loosen it a bit, but those are also an way to go. Slight stains and you can just have a "towel" or similar to soak it up so you don't have to wash it too often.

Screens you have to be more careful with, not all of them can handle water too well so go light on the amount of water. there are certain cleaning stuff for screens but very uncertain what is the best for both screen and usage.
