NVIDIA UNVEILS GTX Titan Z

digitalnav

Nvidia would appear to be years ahead of AMD.

Now how many future build plans will we get now with people wanting the Titan Z?

Not many, it's not a good gaming choice IMHO a pair of the upcoming 780Ti 6GB will be king.

I don't know why people get so angry at Nvidia. If you don't like its price, don't get it. The people that do get it probably aren't looking price to performance, but are looking for the best possible. I don't see what's so bad about that.

Not really, AMD's flagship 290x is also not a fully unlocked Hawai GPU.

So even they have something left in the tank...

I can see this more of a workstation graphics card or a backbone for a small rendering station for animation

Its all about those volumetric clouds

http://videocardz.com/50044/nvidia-announces-geforce-gtx-titan-z

GeForce GTX TITAN Z features full GK110 cores, something we expect to see in GTX 790 (if that’s still coming).

GTX TITAN Z has 5760 CUDA cores, 12GB GDDR5 memory. It’s the first 8 TeraFlops GPU.

GeForce GTX TITAN Z costs $2999, making it the most expensive GeForce GPU so far. The new TITAN is first graphics card designed for 5k resolution.

TITAN Z features one fan, the design is quite similar to GTX 690.

So basically a 790Ti?

I'm assuming this is just like the other Titans, where it doesn't make sense to buy if you're only planning to game on it? I would certainly never pay that much for one, but I don't think I'm the target demographic for it anyway (and I would guess, neither are most of us)

Really Titan Z? Why the "Z", I would call it The TitanThatIsBetterThanBlack  :P The Titan Dual or White doesn't sound wrong either.

But I did expect more from a multi-million company like Nvidia to be honest when it comes to the naming scheme.

^ AMD's conference this week also, expecting a similar launch...

Nvidia obviously wanted to be first with their latest Dual-GPU design.

Happy as for both teams.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

well, there are all those people who want the best, like all the titan black builds for 1080p gaming where forum members must inform them to not bother with a titan.
