So that's where the RTX2060 go. I mean, in Malaysia, we have tons and tons of RTX 2060 cards long after everything sells out. RTX2060 was never popular because of its price vs. performance ratio in Malaysia.

Honestly, I've just lost interest in the GPU space right now. It's full of unnecessary hype with ridiculous pricing. For many consumers, raw performance is more important than RTX.

I just want them to keep RTX and GTX separate, but that's not going to happen anyway. So, I'll just hold on to my old 1050ti.

The transition to RT is happening, regardless what anyone thinks about it. It is not going to go away, and will continue to grow. For someone doing a mid to higher end forward looking build, not having it at a usable performance is going to limit your options. For now, it isn't quite ready for lower budget systems but it will come in time.

RTX features on lower end cards are still a nice to have. Don't think about ray tracing here. The lower end your card is, the more DLSS will help in terms of value. Game support for DLSS will only grow in the future. Who cares about raw performance when you can get more performance without a big visual impact using upscaling.

Lol that's the thing though, the cards really have the horsepower, RTX is in its infancy and currently nothing more than a marketing gimmick.

Quick update:

Today I've seen a local retailer restock the RTX 2060. Unsurpisingly, it's quite expensive:

Right now I can get everything for almost the right price in my country besides these GPUs, even CPUs good enough for me like the 3600, 3300x are in stock at right prices but the GPUs, dang ! The shopkeepers are scalping them

I really hope GPU prices come down in the next few months. Although I'll admit to laughing at the irony — I've had PC diehards who lambasted me for buying a PS5, but there's now a good chance you'll pay as much or more for a roughly comparable RTX 2060, let alone the RTX 30 series.

 

(Yes, I know scalpers are also running wild with PS5s, but I got mine at normal pricing.)
