2GB of OCZ Gold was the hottest stuff around. I eventually upgraded to 4GB just to play BF3 #MaxedOutDimmsYO!

Considering the use of Phenom II and HD4890, I assume computer was built around late 2009 right?

YES! I eventually upgraded to a 5770 cause it was apparently lower power, same performance as 4890, but I had worse frame rate

I have 8 GB on 4 2GB sticks.
