Why 3080 is still so low in stock?

Tadziunia

Its more than two months, and there still no stock and prices go up. I was offered 3080 ventus for 910eur more than month ago, but i said to my friends at pc part shop that i will wait for AMD, however AMD was dissapointing, more expensive and still poor performance at ray tracing also terrible stock, month passed and in my country there is zero gpu's. And price of 3080 went up to 1.3k euros and not less. How long it will take to go down ? i am so mad at myself that i didn't take 3080 for 910eur....

Because Bitcoin is now over $28,000 each.

And before everyone goes YOU DONT MINE BITCOIN WITH GPU's

Of course you dont, you mine other coins and exchange them on the BTC exchange market for BTC (or the tiny miniscule percentages of them at a time.)

Massive supply constraints, with regards to manufacturing. And logistics of moving product. Plus a lot of regions have re-entered into lockdown again. In Canada supply is extremely non-existent. From what I have gathered it could be Q2 2021 before we see anything even begin to normalize. This will take time, and ultimately while frustrating it is a very 1st world problem to have.

Also if Nvidia and AMD continue to release new GPU's and stretch their silicon beyond its limit it will not help the issue.

Nvidia can't melt steel beams.  Mods are covering it up!

Seriously though - it's basically all of these.  Lots of people really want these cards.

Mostly just venting.

Ordered a 3080 two months ago still waiting.

But yes I also noticed prices went up. I bought the GPU (Strix OC do not judge it is one of the few that actually ships in Europe....) for like 960 Euros some 2 weeks ago prices shot up to 1150 Euros for the same GPU.

https://www.proshop.de/RTX-30series-overview

There are still many vendor models that have delivered 0 since launch.....

I am really pissed off with the rumored announcement of the 3080ti that is like a huge middle finger to everybody who ordered the 3080. And as a cherry on top will make the cards even less available.

But I would agree that this is mostly due to covid.

Demand went up and supply went down. Hell I ordered a Herman Miller chair the minimum wait time was 4 months! And that is for a hellishly expensive chair.

Every single component for my new PC build was overpriced and had delivery issues from RAM to PSU.

Seriously when I watch the news I am amazed how everybody is reporting on the stock market and sometimes a bit on the commercial real estate crash. And nobody is talking about the shortages of basically everything and how many factories are still offline and how many ships got scrapped. At first some reporting was done on mask toilet paper and medicine shortages.

But we are looking at this shit continuing for at least the 1h of 2021.

The amount of container ships that got parked or scraped will disrupt global logistics for months to come. If not years, I looked at container prices and availability and talked to some logistics companies about their estimates for 2021 and man it looks bad......

Hell many Asian countries even imposed rice export restrictions.....

Yeah... I really been hoping to get a proper office chair soon too.  I've worked from home for around 3 years now and have been using a Maxnomics 'gaming chair' this whole time.  It's awful for my back.  I really need to invest in a proper chair.   I'm just going to have to wait this 'pandemic' thing out.

Completely off topic. Sorry.

Yea gaming chairs are mostly just overpriced junk.

Gamers Nexus just did a good video on them.

I am amazed that most people dont even give a second thought to desks, chairs or ergonomics in general. I mean most of us sit there for like 6h a day or more? I have so many friends who already got back and wrist problems....
