When do you guys think intel will come with a new lineup?

What do u think? In May like last year? Which was hardly a new lineup. 

 

Very curious if I should get a ryzen 5800x with my rtx 3080. Or wait a little. I think I will wait for some time

If you want to build or upgrade- do it. Otherwise you'll be stuck in a loop

I would get current gen ryzen cpus.

Supposed to arrive January or February I believe, but their launch won't really change much about 5000 series. If Intel's claims about 11th gen are correct, that will basically mean that their cpu's will perform similarly to current ryzen offerings, so you aren't losing anything if you pick ryzen.

 

Also I wouldn't suggest getting the 5800X, it's an extra 200$ over the 5600X, just for 2 extra cores, I'd personally pick between the 5600X and 5900X.

Rocket Lake is coming next year (and by that, we'll probably see at least a glimpse of it at CES or later). It's still 14nm but comes with a new core architecture, finally retiring Skylake (mostly) and introduces PCIe 4.0 on the Intel platform. After that is Alder Lake, a much more interesting architecture which introduced a big.LITTLE design to the desktop for the first time.

 

As for what's available now, the 5800X is a good option. It's not the best in terms of value as it's not really better than a 5600X for gaming, and a 5900X is better value overall especially if you need the cores, but as it stands, it's a very strong CPU that should give you many years of performance computing.

the current zen cpus are a safe bet, altho if you are only gaming rocket lake will be faster (otherwise why even bother), if you need a comp now, don't wait, if you have something, then your call.
