I'd love to know what most people actually use when they game.

I feel like most people use headsets even though their sound quality is crappy. I myself have Sennheiser HD 650 which are meant to be decent but I've had them since 6 years and even the foam is starting to disappear.

And if you have several please just pick what you use the most or your favourite.

It depends, if no one is home or it's daytime, I use a pair of Klipsch speakers with a sub. If people are home that I won't want to disturb or it's at night, I use my Sony WX1000-XM3 headphones.

I use a pair of AKG M220 headphones. I do have a set of Polk speakers connected to my PC, but never use them for gaming.

I use Tannoy Reveal 5As for everything unless I'm in a voice call in which case the headphones come out (usually ATH M20X). Works great for me, I press one physical button and the speakers mute leaving me to listen solely through the headphones.

Headphones are usually Audeze LCD-24 + Sennheiser HDV820 Amplifier + Schiit Yggdrasil or Chord DAVE DAC.

Speakers are either JBL M2 or my home theater setup, which consists of:

PMC Fact Fenestria

2x McIntosh MC1.25kW monoblocks

2 Genelec 7380 SAM Subwoofer's

PMC Fact 10.C

4 PMC Twenty 5 22 height speakers

2 PMC Fact 8

4 PMC Fact 12

Bryston SP4 32 channel processor

2 Yamaha MX-A5200 11 channel power amplifier's

2 IsoTek EVO3 Super Titan Power Conditioners

It all depends on what I want. For something that isn't a simulator, I'll use the JBL M2's, for something that is a simulator, such as Assetto Corsa, I'll use the home theater.

However, Sometimes I will whip out my Adam Audio monitors for gaming. 7.1 with main monitors is fun.

Rarely I will use my line arrays. Martin Audio MLA Mini's.

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

For my main rig, iFi Micro iDSD Black Label + HD800/ENIGMAcoustics Dharma D1000/Denon Ah-D7000/modded Fostex T50RP (these are on rotation now) or if I wanna feel the explosions and gunfire, an LG Dolby Atmos soundbar.

On my 2nd rig, I'd used my Oppo HA-1 with the various cans I'd mentioned, or with my Philips Fidelio HTL9100, this soundbar's great for music too.

My main setup is a NAD M51 DAC, S.M.S.L. SP200 amp and, currently, a pair of Grado GS1000e headphones.

The Grado headphones is just my current favorite for playing video games. They suck at pretty much everything else, but their soundstage lends them really well to immersive games.

Else I switch between a pair of Audeze LCD-2, Sennheiser HD600 (or 660s if I feel fancy) or Shure SE846.

I swap between Amiron Home/Wireless, T5p.2, Klipsch Heritage HP-3, DT880 and Sennheiser HD560S, depending on the mood and if noise isolation is prefered or not. The only one speaker I sometimes use is Marshall Stockwell gen 1.

DAC/AMPs:

Klipsch Heritage Headphone Amplifier

Headphones: Klipsch Heritage HP-3 Walnut, Meze 109 Pro, Beyerdynamic Amiron Home, Amiron Wireless Copper, Tygr 300R, DT880 600ohm Manufaktur, T90, Fidelio X2HR

CPU: Intel 4770, GPU: Asus RTX3080 TUF Gaming OC, Mobo: MSI Z87-G45, RAM: DDR3 16GB G.Skill, PC Case: Fractal Design R4 Black non-iglass, Monitor: BenQ GW2280

It depends on what game I'm playing. If its a game that doesn't really require voice communications, I'll use my Logitech 5.1 Surround Sound System. If its a game that does require voice communications such as Rainbow Six Siege, I'll use my headset.
