Games to run on a potato (not your generic potato, a totally rotten one)

hey there!

        im stuck in my hometown because of covid, and the pc here absolutely sucks. however, im getting bored of playing cod and pubg mobile on my phone daily, and would like to play something on my pc.

 

does anyone have any recommendations of games that can run on these specs:

 

intel pentium e5200

1024 MB DDR2 RAM

Integrated Graphics (Intel G33 Chipset)

Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit

 

 

P.S. No, fortnite nor valorant can run on this

You'll find huge collections of NES and SNES roms if you search torrent sites.  Grab znes or other emulators and you can go through those games for months/years.

 

Transport Tycoon Deluxe  / OpenTTD (open source that's better now than Transport Tycoon Deluxe) can be a good time killer, can be played online against others etc

 

Half-Life 1, opposing force, blue shift and Half-Life 2 should work. Other Source based games like Vampire the masquerade should work. Left 4 dead 1 maybe, left 4 dead 2 also could work.

Fallout 3 Game of the Year  MAY work, Fallout New Vegas may also work (better than fallout 3)

wasteland 2 (similar to fallout games) but low memory amount is a problem

 

rpgs:

the witcher 1

divinity original sin 1 , 2 may also work

dungeon siege 1 and 2 and dlcs (avoid dungeon siege 3, different game studio, different gameplay, worse)

neverwinter nights 1 and addons

torchlight (more point and click, less "inventory and equipment matters" stuff )

 

Check platformers  ... Cave Story+ , 8bitboy,child of light, Celeste if it works it's awesome 

 

Spelunky , Terraria

 

heroes of might and magic 1,2,3 ... they're 2d turn based strategy

worms armageddon, reloaded

 

Trine may work

bloodrayne 1, 2 , betrayal are old and should work

first borderlands may work

 

going alphabetically through my steam games

 

elder scrolls 3 morrowind (never got into it though)

es 4 oblivion may work

grand theft auto 3 may work

gta san andreas, gta vice city

 

hotline miami will probably work

King's bounty series .. rpgs turned based stuff

 

Max payne 1 and 2

the first Mass Effect may work, not sure

The first Bioshock may work

 

Penumbra series may work

Sacred 2

 

The first saints row games

 

Sniper elite 1, and v2

 

tomb raider 1,2, 3..

its minecraft windows 10 edition, (idk if it would run on windows 7 tho, or if there's a windows 7 version) shouldnt be as demanding as java

Stardew Valley? On an Atom Z3735F, there is some stutter. Though the G33 chipset probably has a substantially worse GPU than the iGPU of my Atom. 

 

Tbh, whatever phone you have will probably wallop this PC many times over on GPU performance. If that could be connected to an external monitor/tv, and a Bluetooth controller connected, you’d probably be way better off.

The original Halo combat evolved for pc?

I'm not sure if it will play on that hardware or not but they used to say it would play on anything.

They say you can play it on windows 10?

If that hardware runs windows 7 I'm guessing it will play it?

 

It was a windows XP game originally.

I play it on an old Vista desktop sometimes. 

Some people still online playing multiplayer for it every night.

Not always the case. The integrated graphics on that old chipset may cause bugs in some games or even make some games refuse to work, due to missing DirectX or OpenGL features.

Some XP games may not work on his system due to the integrated graphics.

Everything else games usually can work with ... ram is a bit on the low side at 1 GB, but there's pagefile and swapping to disk if needed. The integrated graphics is the weak link.
