Is it PSU upgrade time?

Upgrade875

Hey all! I am in the middle of building a pc and I've run across a power supply problem. I currently have a 450 watt psu from a pervious upgrade I did. I ran my components through Outervission and Newegg psu calculators and I got a 376 rating on Outervision and a 496 psu rating on Newegg. Can I get by with a 450 watt power supply or do I need to get a new one? Responds to this thread is appreciated.

What are the specs of the new build? What exact model is the psu?

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

My current PSU is a corsair 450 watt gold rated psu. I have an Intel i7 5820k with a possible 1080 ti founders edition card.

the model is a Rps0126 psu

after some googling, that shows as the corsair CV450

are you sure you have a 450 watt 80 Plus gold unit?

if its the CV, would recommend replacing it

You shouldn't use a double forward group regulated PSU, like the CV450, with a 1080 TI.

So is it the GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition? If so, then no, I would go a little higher with a 500-550 watt power supply at a minimum, like the one linked below.

what?

what is 'legroom for the components to stretch'?

a 3950x and a 2080ti can run on a 450w.
