Are you hoping to get a trophy after a set number of likes?

 

You cannot make people click "like" on your comment, people will like what they like and dislike/ignore what they don't like.

Don't post comments for the sole purpose of farming "likes", you'll give yourself a hard time when you don't get what you think you deserve.

Yo guys I have been commenting on one of Linus Tech Tips videos and I haven’t been getting enough comment likes. I have been writing comments such as: “What are you gonna do with a 32k dollar gaming pc? Play Minesweeper” and something like that. It looked very original to me but I haven’t been getting any likes. Am I doin anything wrong or something? Tell me.

Hey I just purchased a Fkn KFC 4K 150fps gaming rig that fried my dinner and I didn't get that many likes either!! WTF is going on here???!!!

honestly dont expect likes, maybe you'll have one that stick but its most likely because luck wasnt in your favour

People "like" when they like something. Not when they don't. IMO your example is not impressive. Original comments do not automatically = likes.

To be honest, the comment just isn't funny or worthy of a "like"

I’m not trying to force people to like my comments and get “money” but if I am being original I would be likely to get more likes than other people. The keyword is brainstorming. Think about Seth Everman’s comment.

Like/upvote/reputation systems suck, honestly. Makes any discussion into a popularity contest. I can understand it being implemented for videos/photos/other creative work, but not so much the comments.

YouTube is a fickle system, sometimes you get no traction on a decent comment, other times you get hundreds of likes on an dumb comment.

Don't take likes on a comment as evaluation (or the opposite) of your message.
