Shouldn't the fan on the cpu cooler be pushing air through the fins and then the rear fan would suck it out (used as an exhaust?)

In your case both suck in one direktion? Of course this works too but don't u think placing the cpu fan on the other side pushing through would work a bit better?

I couldn't route my short extra power cable with the fan on that side. ( Plus it's easy to clear out the dust since I just have to wipe the heatsink )

well wiping the heatsink shouldn't be an argument lol.

But it is ok! Still, if you rebuild or clean ur system the next time you can use the moment to put some new thermal compound on the cpu, reposition the Fan and get a cheap extender for your power cable.

Fair enough, but it actually does make cleaning out dust a million times easier than having to clean out the fan blades on the fans. ( I will stick to that being a valid reason :P )  In all seriousness though I probably will do that.

I will never understand people buying ATX cases for mini itx boards... Unless its temporary. But, I had a friend who had a micro ATX i Define R4, just because he liked it.

It's a µATX case, I bought it as my computer was being starved of clean airflow.

I have already bought new components to replace the motherboard and cpu, (which is in the micro form factor)

CPU: i5 4430 PSU: XFX 550w Ram: 8gb Patriot Viper 1600mhz

Motherboard: MSI H87M-G43 Case: Fractal Design Define R4

SSD: 840 Evo 250gb, 512gb MX100 GPU: MSI GTX 980TI Gaming Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo

Ahh I see, well, as long as its for the good of the PC, its good :D Just not in the enthusiastic point of view :)

I felt that after 4 years of nothing but an 80mm exhaust it needed a little better cooling.

Especially as it started hitting 20 degrees every day.

guy i know has this listed on ebay at the moment.

At least it was an SSD. If that were a mechanical Hard drive, I'd be asking for a discount valued at the price of the drive.
