Is it safe to sell PC parts?

Hello,

I am planning to sell my cpu and motherboard and both are from Intel gen 9. So can you please give me an insight on whether there are stored personal information in the cpu and motherboard. Thanks.

you can factory reset the bios......... but there would be nothing really "personal" there

And by this you mean reset motherboard's settings to default?

I would suggest doing so, that way the one who buys it won't have your settings, which may not work right with the rest of their hardware... And in turn makes them believe the hardware is faulty.

If you do not have the socket cover for the motherboard, I hope you're selling the CPU and motherboard as a whole and not removing the CPU from the motherboard.

@LOD_ismynightmare it is always the best idea to sell parts at their default settings.

I am kinda struggling on selling the CPU because I think I need it for another build. I do have the CPU socket cover, putting it back on the motherboard is a bitch though.

Only storage devices.
Hard drives, SSD.
I doubt you installed an NVME nor bought one pre-installed, so you should be safe.

To reset the Motherboard, I think you can just take out the little battery that looks like a coin & unplug it for like 5 minutes. Might not even take that long.

LOL what? Putting the socket cover back on is a piece of cake. It's a piece of plastic that fits over the socket.

If you're selling a mobo make sure you remove the I/O shield from the case and sell it along with the mobo.
